  1. It's an 08'. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to read what the exact errors were. The mechanic was just explaining to me what he saw and said it was fixed.

Would it be possible if I just took a torque converter out of an Aurion in a car yard? A few mechanics I know are family, so the labour part of the price would be almost nothing.

It my not even be the torque converter. It could simply be a solenoid or sensor that is causing it to spew errors and give you issues. This is why it's important to read the codes and troubleshoot from there. The fact that it went away when the ECU was reset would make me think that there ma not be a huge mechanical issue with it, but that's just a guess.

Well, I drove the car so carefully after the reset like it was like I was driving on eggs.. the first 5min drive was fine. Then a 15min drive home was also fine. Next day I drive another 15min~ still fine. Then the drive after that, about 1min in, the lights went back on again.

I will be seeing that same mechanic on Monday night again for him to have another look at it, and hopefully tonight they boys at the meet might be able to help me out ;)

Wasn't too sure about coming tonight cause of the condition of the car, but if you can check/scan it yourself then I'll be there for sure.

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it! :)

  3. Alright, so my torque converter and abs module are apparently f*cked.

The engine, traction control and the VSC lights on the dash are on, and have been for about 4 weeks now. At one point I would try to reverse and the car would just be like it was in neutral, meaning it wouldn't reverse. Also just last week when braking at very low speeds (0-20km/h) the abs would just kick in and try to stop the car.

A mate and I managed to reset the ECU through the ignition switch and all the lights went off, and the car was like brand new... For about 3 hours.

Just last night a mechanic had a look at it and put some machine in and saw all these electrical problems or faults? Anyway, he ended up resetting all of what he found and the car was like new once again, till today.

Anybody have any serious advice on what I could possibly do? Really lost right now..

  4. I hear that same sound you speak of... it's actually loud in my car though. I sometimes wonder if people outside can hear it.

Only thing is, I only hear it when I an reversing & turning at the same time, never whilst going forward though.

  5. Haha, if you manage to pick up a spare rear bar that'd be good. But I don't believe it's a risk worth taking. After all, I can't see my rear anyway.

Next up for me is foggies and tinted slimline weather shields..

  6. i saw hong's car driving out of sunshine hospital

i also saw gunmetal grey with number plate "IGAROI" rolling on furlong road all smacked up from the drivers side and the rear, wtf happened to that car? looks like malicious damage though...

    It's actually "IAGROI"...

and yea, that car got hurt bad. The owner lives only up the road from me in Roxy ;)

  7. Thanks DJKOR! That makes everything a lot more clearer. I've got just one more question with something you raised. You mentioned that "You either have the TRD or K&N panel filter replacement, or you have the K&N Typhoon SRI or the Fujita CAI. They would all be about the same." Does this mean I have the option of using the easier panel replacement? Would this panel produce an induction noise similar to an SRI or CAI?

I know this question is for DJKOR, but I can't help but to give a guesstimation..

Answer is, Hell no. SRI Induction sound is pure sex to the ears.

Haha! Your reply is appreciated nonetheless! Thanks for your help. Also, with the eBay link you posted up, that item was a CAI and not an SRI yeah?

Nah nah, that was a SRI. K&N don't make CAI for the Aurions.. (3.5L Camry)

This is a photo of the one in my car.

  9. Hey buddy, I bought my K&N from this guy here.

The box itself contains all the parts you need to install the Typhoon Intake. Of course you'll need your own tools..

It also comes with an instruction sheet. I found it pretty straight forward, took about 2 hours to put mine on, and I even had a mate to help me out a little.

This is by far the best mod I have done so far, and probably will be the best overall.

If you're in Melb, I can give you a hand or even take you for a drive so you can hear it in person... At 6,000rpm, it is bloody loud and sounds so awesome yahoo.gif

Ahh cool, thanks man. I'm just deciding between your CAI or getting an SRI. The whole hydrolock thing is concerning.

Best bet is to go with the SRI. It's more than enough to satisfy your needs, and you don't need to worry about hydrolocking ;)

  11. 27th of Feb is my birthday guys, so I highly doubt this will be a yes from me.. dry.gif

Awww come on :) I will get cake!! There are a few birthdays in Feb so I'd say there will be a cake...

That reminds me, we have to organise a cake, don't we ;)*wink wink nudge nudge* whistling.gif

And I wonder if we can get the One Tree Hill hotel to set aside some parking for us, as there was very little last time we went.

Heheh yes, yes we do. Kenpo makes the third birthday of the month... :whistling:

That's a great idea, we'll have to ask them about that too. You keen for a run out to Lake Eppalock one night/Saturday or Sunday? If we do it on the weekend we could check out the route again and then other potential photo locations :D

Well, I wasn't planning on doing anything for my Birthday. So I will let you know closer to the date... been 7 days a week at work lately
