  1. Get in touch with a mob called Amayama if you can, they can hit up Toyota Japan for some stuff that is next to impossible to get here - they managed to get me a fresh-out-of-the-mould FXGT front lip for instance, delivered to my door from Japan for about $150.

    Their website is down ;-;

    Christmas/New Years break, they're open again on the 5th.

    You sure? I emailed info@amayama.com and my email bounced back saying email doesn't exist.

  2. Hi all,

    My first post here ... how's it going?

    My wife has a 2000 Corolla Ascent auto with about 138000 kilometres on the clock. We bought it a couple of months back hoping to get decent fuel economy out of it, but we're consistently getting 10 to 11 L/100km. We had it serviced a few weeks back, and we told our mechanic about the problem. He did a regular service, but he could not find a problem.

    After going for a few weeks, I noticed that my wife had left the overdrive button on, which I thought would be causing the fuel economy problem (do people notice a difference with that??). However, we turned the overdrive off, and it looks like we're still burning through the fuel at the same rate.

    Fuel type used is always regular unleaded (not 10% ethanol).

    Driving is almost entirely in the city - short trips down to the shops and that's about it. I know this is not ideal, but that's all my wife needs it for.

    What economy are most people getting with city driving with the AE112 Corolla?

    Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

    Thanks for your help.

    Here is some information for you regarding this particular car, I have a conquest model and I don't even notice haha

  3. Toyota may be able to source one for you, here is the part number to hopefully assist you,

    Sunguard Part No: PZQ6512010

    Thanks however it has been discontinued, already tried when I got my Levin/Sportivo Grille.

    BTW how did you find out the part no.?

    I thought it would be discontinued but sometimes they can track down new old stock if they can, well more like if they can be bothered...

    I have a Genuine parts brochure on that model including what TTE stuff was available at the time.

    I wouldn't mind a copy of that ;-;

  4. Yeah I know, but even still Toyota didn't produce only 110 cars not have any spare parts for the customers. Yeah, already asked Toyota after giving them a Sportivo VIN no and they have nothing that was exclusive to Sportivo

    That is true, but you also need to consider the fact that the model is now basically 9 years old, so whatever spare parts were available, may now be more limited.

    ^this. I know a couple of people on various forums with the AE112 Sportivo, and a couple others with normal AE112s, and they have all commented on how hard it is to get genuine bodykit pieces (the main desirable pieces which are different from the Levin kit: ie the spoiler raisers). And if you think spoiler raisers and front lips are hard to come buy, take that Sportivo VIN and ask for a quote on a replacement ECU. I guarantee you'll die of a heart-attack over the price - I've heard of quotes up to and $15000, just for the ECU.

    Yeah I know, I just hate when cars like my corolla (which aren't sportscars obviously) get limited parts when say something like a Nissan 180SX has so many parts up for grabs it's not funny. I don't mind that there is not so many genuine parts left, that makes sense however why isn't there any aftermarket support for the car?

  5. Just remember with the Sportivo that it was only sold in Aus (nowhere else in the world had the turbo 7AFE) and they only made 110 of them in the first place (100 sold, 10 crash-tested I believe), so genuine parts are never going to be easy to come buy.

    Yeah I know, but even still Toyota didn't produce only 110 cars not have any spare parts for the customers. Yeah, already asked Toyota after giving them a Sportivo VIN no and they have nothing that was exclusive to Sportivo

  6. I called Toyota in adelaide and said they have some parts but not many, especially sportivo parts. Do I have to call up resellers and wreckers just find some of these parts? I don't even know where to start. How much are you offering for the sportivo lip?

    Also I have been looking at some black gloss mags for my white conquest, I decided to get these http://www.speedywheels.com.au/images/zoom/cheetah-black.htm

  7. Hey guys, as you are probably aware I'm new here and I'm finding it hard to find information on AE112R series cars regarding parts and accessories. I have recently bought a Toyota Corolla Conquest AE112R and want to do some work on it but really finding a hard time finding part and accessory lists/guides/manuals. What I'm generally looking for is a place to purchase some Sportivo/Levin parts. Could someone please guide me in the right direction? Cheers

  8. Hey guys,

    My name is Adem and I'm so happy to join the intelligent bunch of Toyota savys here. I'm in the process of purchasing a 2000 Corolla Conquest AE112R and will be my first real project car. I have already checked through the forums for great custom mods ranging for 2003 till today. I hope to squeeze some suggestions out of you guys and hope to (in the end) have a restored beautiful car to ride into the sunset =P

    Cheers,

    Adem
