  1. Sorry to see you haven't received any comments on your awesome thread mate. Brings back memories when I had my ST184. They are fantastic cars. I put extractors on mine and I felt it brought a little bit more out of the 5sfe. They are built like bricks and keep running for many years to come. I went in a ST184 with a 3sgte conversion and it was an absolute blast of fun haha. My favourite car of all time.

  2. Hey all,

This is my latest project, a 2001 Celica SX, codenamed "Dorisu" which is the nane Doris in Japanese lol

The car is stock as a rock at the moment, and it needed a really good clean/polish, there was areas that had build up of dirt in areas around the lights, in the sill between the doors and near the bonnet hinges (amongst countless other areas lol)

It drives beautifully, the gearbox is nice and tight. 4th gear syncro on down gear is a bit meh but I fell in love with the rest of the condition of the car which is really great. The clear on the bumper is a bit average (whats left of it lol) but I had hopes to replace the front bumper with either a trd one or another white one with a front lip already installed, and the rear bumper would be replaced also.

I've got some ideas for mods but I have left it open enough for some of the boxes to get ticked off below but don't mind if not all are done:

    Prospect mods for Dorisu

    White TRD Sideskirts

White TRD Front Lip (will buy complete with white bumper

White TRD Rear Lip (will buy complete with white bumper

    White Front Bumper

    White Rear Bumper

    Aftermarket Rear Sway Bar

    5x100 Wheels (preferably 17" 7.5" wide and 35 offset)

    Short Ram Intake

Extractors and Cat Back (or complete) exhaust

Unlikely but still probable Mods for Dorisu

    DD Intake Manifold

    Power FC

    Stage 2 MWR Cams

  4. I'll jump on board with the compliments.. everyone loves compliments on their cars. Great pics and detail..!!

Thanks :) Your not wrong it does feel great hearing so many nice things about your ride hehe

I got home from my mate tonight with a few more goodies. Mainly to fix up some of the worn interior, spares are always good too. You will notice a sunroof panel on the table to the left of the picture, I will be able to just swap the units straight over which will definitely save some time. I have a feeling removing the headliner is going to be a big job indeed, one I am not too happy about having to do haha. It is coming upto summer and it would definitely make the car really feel like a Touring Sports Wagon. My previous Caldina didn't have one and I must admit I did wish it did so I got lucky with this car. I've got a very good pair of front seats to put in as my drivers side does have quite a bit of wear.

This weekend i've got my mate coming around whos going to give me a hand with swapping the struts around with the RSR Springs. Should be nice to drop the car about 1 inch, at the moment it is sitting at stock height. If I have some time on Sunday I might attempt the sunroof installation, would be great knowing its done.

  5. Great work ~ love it very much .:clap::clap:

Thanks John much appreciated :) I love driving it every day. I like the fact that its quite unique and doesn't draw too much attention (till they hear the turbo spool haha)

What an impressive work, and I like 3SGE Series very much.

I might be dumb to ask, does this car come with LSD?

Thanks ben :) I too absolutely love the 3sge series, they are great sounding motors with lots of potential.

Theres no dumb questions :), I really appreciate you taking an interest in my car and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have about it. The auto model actually had Vehicle Stability control, while the manual models relied on a Torsen LSD which works really well. When driving the car off the public roads I have been able to get the car pretty sideways in the wet even though its AWD.

    HOLY UPDATE BATMAN !

will read the rest later :P !

nice ! congrats on getting your ride back !

Haha thats for sure, I must admit I have attended a Toyota Owners Club meet in the past but I must apologize I have not been able to get on here as much. Its great to have a car again, it was 7 months that I was having to get to work on an electric Chopper Bicycle. Mind you it was pretty awesome fun in summer when it was going through winter the fun wore off real quick getting to work saturated.

    Thanks :)

wow man - very detailed, love the write up and mods.

    MOAR of this !!

Thanks :) I wanted to make sure i covered as much detail for any other readers that might have wanted to convert their Caldina. I was inspired by another Caldina like mine which was converted, mind you this was converted a few years before mine. The owner helped me out a lot with sourcing parts and the best technique to try get the job done.
