  1. G'day

I am looking for CD/mp3 player to fit my Camry 02(MCV36)

Wonder any cheap but good quality on the market?

I prefer the one which i can plug my USB thumb in and play directly.

Any bro can suggest the brand and model and approx price?

Also if you guys have ur old one for sale, I am happy to buy your 2nd hand player too:)

    Ken

  2. I use bp 98, i usually get on average 12.3l/100km (manual calc).

The dash reading is ALWAYS wrong, and funnily enough my fuel gauge only thinks there is 50 litres in the tank.

I do get up to 13.6l/100 from time to time if im only doing like suburban driving (0-80, traffic light, 0-80 traffic light etc) .

If the car is run on 91 it runs like crap, pings and uses more fuel

This is pretty much I get too..

I also realise the fuel gauge give unreliable reading, i can run 300km everytime when it point to the half, which make me think it can run 600km. but it goes to red light very quick.

  3. I finally got a new remote control

    Toyota really have different price!!!

I went to sydney Glebe one, they charge the remote control for $64 + $60 for the programming service, need appointment for programming service (few days)!!!!

I ended up went to Artamon one, they only charge me $65 for the remote and no extra charge for the service, and they program my new remote straight after i purchased. and the whole programming process only took 30sec

Call different toyota and quoate the price!!!!

  4. Hi all

Can anybody tell me where I can change the battery and the 2 buttons on my remote .?

    Is it possible to DIY?

    Thanks

I dun think you can DIY, as it is waterproof sealed remote.

cheapest way is to get a new remote from deal, cost about $6x if you are in sydney.

I heard that you can programme yourself, otherwise dealer will charge you another $6x

you can see my previous post regarding the remote control, i asked the similar question.:)

  5. My MCV36R is slightly different than yours, but I consistently get 12.5-13.5L/100kM.

    Brisbane driving (75% offpeak, 25% peak) no hwy, no A/C. Mobil8000/BP Ultimate/Shell V-Power/7-11 98 only.

hey andrew, i was looking at your other post abt ur mod sportivo and ur youtube, your car rocks! really nice :)

  6. I know this sort of post always appear on the forum, but I would like to compare more specific with MCV36R Owner about your avg fuel consumption.

I got my camry like 5 months ago.

my dash reading always give around 13.xL/100Km, but my manual fillup calculations are usually between >11.5 to 12.7L/100Km

I think I am a lightfooted driver unless I am mad with sth.

80%...<70km zone sydney road, always involve slight slope.

    20%...>70km zone

40% of time A/C on these few weeks

I use either 95% or 98% patrol most of them time Mobil or Shell

    What is yours? :)

  7. Thanks all for comments mate!!

I assume the machanic wont give the best of the best, instead, giving the average oil

so both Andrew and Zeinheiger got your points.

In this case I seemed payed him around $100 for labor fee, if this amt is the average, he's got a good income job!

  8. Hi Ken again here,

Just wondering if anyone know how much around would the service be if the following has been done:

    1) Engine Oil change

    2) Transmittion oil change

    3) resetting the handbreak thing (i saw him did sth on the left rear wheel disc with a screw driver )

    4) pink slip (to renew my rego)

    5) changing 2 of the rear light bulbs

he charged me $260, coz this machanic is a friend of my good friend, he didnt write me an invoice listing the service description and i didnt ask for it.

    Ken

  9. Looks like prices have gone up

    Sydney City Toyota: $69

    Artarmon: $65

That's for the remotes only - no programming

If someone could post the instructions for reprogramming the remote please, for a 2002 MCV36R, i can go and get one.

    Cheers

    Nick

    hey nick

I did the similar quote too, i rang and asked toyota sales department at artamon and glebe, they are all about $6x not including programming. I think those shoe/repair place i asked they include everything but $1xx

It would be great if Rob can post the programming instruction too:)

    Ken

  10. heya ken,

i am in sydney, so all dealers here have the same prices. not too sure about the other states...

if you have the one button remote, a two button remote will not work...

    Rob

    Hey Rob

Thats awesome, thx for your information. I live in sydney too.

I actually asked about it at a shoe repair/key cut shop and they are gonna charge me $80!! sucks

    I will go to toyota

    Thanks

    Ken

  11. Hey Kenku927

No need to use eBay. It's cheap from Toyota. There are two types of remotes for CV36s'

    One button remote - $56+GST

    Two button remote - $57.50+GST

They are very easy to program. Let me know if you need intructions on programming.

    Hope this helps.

    Rob

    Hi Bob,

Really? this is cool!!! if they are about the price u mentioned i will prob buy it thru toyoto. so do I just need to pop in any toyota dealer and ask for the remote? or I need to go to specific toyota shop?

My remote is one buttoned, is that possible to programme to 2 button remote?

    Thanks heapp for your information

    Ken

  12. You can definitely get a new remote. I think I may have seen the remote buttons on eBay, you might want to take a look. Search for camry remote

Ya, i have been looking up on the net (also ebay), seem this 2002 Altise model doesnt really have a remote to replace.

  13. Hi

I am new here, just bought my camry 2002 v6.

The previous owner gave me 2 set of original factory keys and remotes controls. 1 of the remote control loss its rubber button, so im using the other set.

But it seems this rubber is wearing off and gonna distach soon too. is it normal for these remote button to fall off that easily? or just am i pressing too hard?

Can i replace the rubber part? or is it possible to get a new remote control? in either case, expensive?

    Thanks
