  1. Here I've drawn the true outline in Red, and the rough centre of each pipe (to give an idea of flow) in blue.

As you can see, the join is nearly spot on 45 degrees. Although it's not as sharp as what can be done by creating a whole new Y-piece, I do believe it will none-the-less function better than the unmodified Y-piece and for a cost of some bolts ($11 from Toyota, will pickup on Wednesday morning and install on Thursday) I'm hoping it will be worth the effort.

BTW to any experienced welders, don't slag me off for the huge weld buildup at the join :o

This pipe looks good. But is there any point doing this mod is there any gain?

  3. Hi Chris,

We have fitted and tuned a MoTec M800 ecu to a 2005 Hilux which has a similar

configuration as far as ECU is concerned. We actually made it full standalone

with a DBW control, variable cam control, the price was roughly $6000 supply fit and

    tune.

What do you have done to your Aurion?

If this is what you are after let me know.

This is an email i got after chasing ECU's this mob is in sydney. i have contact details if anyone is interested :) The ecu alone is about $3500

. So who would u have to get to tune this ecu?

Ive finally come to the conclusion that the only gain in modding the aurion for some kind of improvement in performance is the y-pipe. I seen a thread here a camry that ran a 13.8 quater mile replaced the restrictive y-pipe and got his car tuned by special friends in toyota. Ive seen lots of threads about the aurion cant be tuned. There has to be some way u can tune the aurion. Can anyone shed some light theres gotta be a way and obviously there is a gain in performance if theres an american camry running 13.8 with just the y-pipe and tune.

    Cheers Kurt

  5. Hay all. The only mod that seems to be some saught of a gain is the exhaust. Extractors doesn't seem worth replacing the only

Part that's a restriction is the y pipe is this true? From the extractors Wat else can I change for

Some saught of gain? Is removing one of the cats and the big center resonator worth it? Aswell upgrading all the pipe size to 2.5inch would that also be recommended? Cheers just wanting to

Get pointed in the right direction and setup to give to my exhaust setup. Cheers Kurt.

  6. Hay all

Im going to be investing into an toyota aurion in the next couple months. After i drove for the first time i fell in love with them. Snappy gear changes andvery nice V6 witch goes very well. Question is how much can u get out of an N/A aurion wat mods actually give u gains?Ive seen a fair few aurions of youtube do low 14 second 1/4 miles. are 13 sec quater miles achieavable or already have been done? Ive searched threw threads and seen mixed views on exhausts and intakes and ecus? Im just wanting facts and good guidence?

    Cheers Ricky
