  1. just checked most of the major car classifieds on the net and they the dealers are starting from 49k.

dealer quote: "the reason they're still expensive is because they're still highly regarded and are sometimes even preferred to the evo VII or VIII"

i'm hoping to sell my stivo privately, i really don't want to part with it for only $20,000.

i'd really be happy with $24,000.

    but...they wouldn't budge...

originally, the VI was tagged at $47,999.

     :(

The Evo VI TM is the real deal

Still the benchmark for raw blistering road and track speed... B)

Lots of car reviewers regard it as the quintesential Evo

All the Evos after it have put on weight and lost the race track harshness, no compromises balls out driving experience that the Evo VI is

They'll keep their value as long as their looked after just make sure the car hasent been raced in motokhana, rallies etc as a lot of them where kitted up with a cage and rodgered senseless by weekend warriors...like me i wish :P

  2. Peeps,

Braided brake lines are over kill on a road car..... in a road car in road conditions you rarely get the fluids that "hot" the the brake lines expand under presuure which gives you that doughy pedal feel otherwise refered to as Brake Fade.

The best i could recommend (only cause it works for me) is to get better brake fluids coupled with a good set of pads ie ferodo DS2500, or EBC GreenStuff

This is a simple and cost effective way on increasing brake performance...

Castrol Super Response Dot 4+ is less than $10

Motul RBF 600 Dot 4 is also another really good fluid... (my new fav)

If you track your car often i would suggest a full flush after each day to keep your stoppers working effectivly.

Keep in mind that ive gone a full 25 min session at wakefield in a 206 Gti 180 (with standard brakes) and never once did my brake pedal soften up or fail to pull the car up time and time again

Also running at Oran park down the front straight i was nearing 190kph before getting on the brakes Nice and hard lap after lap with no real noticable fade...

Euro cars are notorious for chewing rotors just as quick as pads so this may not apply to the Stivos... this provides marginally better stoping performance but will wear rotors, pads quicker

When your rotors are shot try going a DBA or EBC rotors with similar pad noted above as i suspect that there a little softer than the std rotors in the Rollas which "should" provide better pefformance

Also if you can get the parts its easy to install yourself (only if you know what your doing i guess :D ) this will save you on labour

  3. Zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Mucho Respect dude

I love the look and Yes 16 look great.....

Also you can now fit semi slicks to your stock rimms and give me a run at the track :D

My 206 Gti 180 coms std with 17s, they look the biz but at the track as no where nears as good as the 15 inch light weight steelies ive got with Falken azenis RT215 semi slicks :P

Can you fit 15 inch rolla steelies and still have clearance for your brake calipers???

If so id suggest that with a good set of semi slicks or even full slicks for track use

The extra perfomane is amazing, i took Dave out at Oran park on tues...we were out with 2 other Gti 180s (on 17inch Pirelli P Zero Nero and P7000s) and a mirage cup race car and through the esse's the latergrip advantage i had over all the other cars was awesome!!!

I would round these guys up through esses being able to carry more corner speed and pull up close enough on the final turn to carry speed onto the straight to overtake :D

But back to your new bling Bro they do look the Dogs Balls B)

  5. I am soooooo tempted but don't have the money right now  :(

Been spending a bit, plus trying to save for wheels, tyres, brakes, exhaust and have insurance and suspension next month not to mention 24 month / 40,000 km service...

But determined to get onto Oran Park some time before it is most likely closed and turned into a housing development. Though there is talk of the owners opening up a now and improved facility on another portion of land they have just lying around doing nothing but house sheep...

    Cmon,

you dont need to eat you can live of baked beans for a while :P its what im eating right now to save the dosh ;)

  6. Hey Fellas,

Auto motion is running a driver trainer Track day at Oran Park on the Tuesday 14/06/2005

Its on the Grand prix track which is the full circuit :D

It's very informal - there are no set session generally 20 mins long

, the track is just open ,and you go out when you feel like it.

This is Not a day for Drifters though....

Same applies to instructors. Theres about 1 per 4 cars, and you just

grab one as you see one free or feel like it, and off you go.

    4 instructors on duty.

    Manned flag points.

    Lunch provided.

    Passenger ride session.

The day is limited to 16 cars so it wont be packed and you wil get quality time with a driver trainer instructor :D

Towards the End of the day there is a reverse grid mock race which is about 7-9 laps which makes for great fun... How cool will it be lined up on the grid waiting for the Reds to go out

  8. Thanks for the video Qui!  It was a good day, a great variety of cars turned up and it was good to see where my Stivo stood among these cars but too bad i couldn't head out for the last session due to low fuel!  I had a good shot at a better lap time and then all of a sudden the car seiged when i entered the last corner before the straight.  :(   Anyway learnt my lesson.  I seriously need better tyres, can't outrun the other guys with 195 width street tyres!

    No probs Zeee man

Did it turn out alright...... the video was abit old ....

I watched the footage from yesterday and its heaps better....alot more steady now ive attached the camera to a proper mount

Yeah you where pretty quick on that lap untill the last turn :( i though you missed a gear cos i made about 2 car lengths on you  )

Keep an eye on the frog forum for pic's

See you next time dude.... :D

  9. Wow that's quite a few Pugs, good to hear a Celica will be coming so i am not the odd one out..  Should be a good day!  Is your friend with the Celica on this forum?  I think i will meet you all at the track, should still remember how to get there.

No i don't have a bike, but i love them!  And the only reason why i use the Yamaha R1 as my avatar is obvious, because our 2ZZ-GE engine is tuned by Yamaha  B)  Great bike you got there, how much did you pay for it?  Is the R6 quicker and handles better than the CBR600RR?

Oh, would you also be bringing your camera and video cam mate?  Remember to bring your remote this time, also if you still have the vid from last time would you be able to burn me copy?  Thanks!

    Zee

Yeah you can help represent Toyota on the day

Got the bike for a good price $8500 with a Yoshi and the thing is mint ( couldnt find a scratch/mark/leak anywhere on her)

Havent ridden a 600RR Yet but there whouldnt be much between them...top end i think the R6 has more......eg i have trouble keeping the nose down after 11000rpm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd :lol: It will rev to 15000rpm :P

Ive packed the remote yesterday :D dont want a repeat of last time...ive havent got myself a firewire yet so ill try and put the footage onto a Video for you for now....

Once i get my act together i'll put it onto cd so you can post for the other stivo guys to view

  10. Hey Qui, how is the car going?  Clocked a few more kays now?  I will most probably be going, not working that day.  My car still ain't 100% with the sh*t clutch but i have lowered it so would be interesting to see how much better it handles.  So what cars would be turning up at this stage?

    Zee

    Car is going good :D

Good 2 see that your gonna attack the track again  lowering the stivo should make heaps of difference.

At this stage a few Peugeot's

    2 206 Gti 180's

    1 306 Gti 6

    1 205 Gti

    1 206 Gti 138

    1 405 Mi 16

    possibly a Focus ST170

Also My Rice burner representor :D :D mate with a Toyota Celica 03 SX (same engine as yours i believe) should make a good comparison

plus a few others i think

I pm'ed Screaminrolla a few days back but he's going to Chip his Ride so cant make it :P

But he should come next time

We'll meeting at Pheasents next mobile at 8am but if you want meet us the track we'll be there from 9am hopefully just keep an eye on the Aussie Frog thread

  11. Heya that was Quick...Nice pics turned out tops Dave... :P

Modswise for the frog, Yes Semi slicks Falken Azenis RT215, i strongly recommend give you so "much" more grip compared to street tyres.

Just beware of the rubber chunks that fly off, or inadvertanly get picked up... i had a massive peice attach itself to my left front throwing my steering out

Also a Green Cotton air filter...

Apart from that she's a great package already...not much to mess with

We didnt have anyone time us (should have though???) but viewing some of the video footage im definantly 1-2 seconds quicker than last ime

but a 1.15 - 1.16ish would be close to it...

Not a bad day at the office at all....

  12. Hey Qui, what cars are your mates driving?

Just wondering too what happens if it starts to rain heavily?  Will be unlikely but can happen.

    Zee

My "mates" so called has pulled out, one said his missus wouldnt let him (selling his Prelude Vti) the other an S15 nissan 200sx should still becoming...

Rain......(prays that there isnt any  )

Unless its Bucketing down ill still be on the way, Wakefield rarely gets rain so if its a little wet it should still be good....

If it rains heavily whilst were there...... i might give it a go :P but we can just grab a coffee i guess.......... Hello aqua planning hehe

Reports state no rain so it should be good for go :D

  13. Hey ill be getting on the hume at narellan road so i might see you on the way down if not at the track cant wait :D  :D  :D

*clasps Hands mr Burns styles* Excelllent :D

    Should be an awesome day

See ya there..... Hopefully it wont be fricken freezing this time :o

p.s If you got a stop watch bring one

Hey sounds like i may have to fight off a few Stivos on the day as.....CANT WAIT!!!!

  14. im keen theres a good chance ill be there giving the sportivo a go  :D

    Good O!!!

Id be very interested to see how it goes with the mods youve done to it!!!

Also I got a CCD Camera and its up and running....ive attachted it inside the car and can relocate to front or rear views,,,should make for some great footage...

Gave it a test run yeterday and its heaps better then having someone hold the camera in the car (deerrrr)

    Hope to see ya there

just keep an eye on this link thread for any updates

    Cheers
