  1. blitz kit for the celica will not be a perfect fit and still need modification with the manifold and fitting bracket if i remember talk to bill (xoom) he has done his research on all avenues relating to F/I, go N/A beast its easier  northy think you mentioned regoli? did they do some turbos on 2zz's?

    [/quote

that is the last option as the greddy s/c kit is looking *** now. im placing my order in on monday for it. im also getting the piper stage 2 cam, valve springs, and valves from MWR for that added strength.

  2. Blu-Stivo i enquired with a friend who works in lotus spares at rick damelian and the inlet manifold and plenum used on there exige 240R costs $3500 and it uses the same supercharger as the greddy unit. so it is quite abit of money but it adds the intercooler setup. How much would purchasing the eaton supercharger cost on its own you have any ideas? if its cheap i guess it may be worth it going there setup.

its not gonna cost you $1000, so its prolly not worth it considering all the fabrication that would be involved....

i had a look on CAPA's website and the charger itself costs $2800 bloody expensive. what fabrication you talking bout northy?the manifold bolts straight on as the lotus exige s uses the 2zzge motor from the corolla. fabrication for intercoooler yes. So otherwise just get the greddy kit and use a water/methanol injection instead thats what lotus do anyway they have 2 injectors on the intercooler inlet side to reduce air temps further.

  4. sorry, I can't see where you referred to that car being supercharged so excuse my lack of mind reading...

and while on that, punctuation is a life saver at times :whistling:

But even the supercharger kit needs to be modified a little to fit, though not as dramatically as the Turbo, at least you can get the S/C bolted onto the intake... But I recommend looking around at what other S/Cs are available... and weighing up all their pros and cons 1st before deciding on the 1st one you see. I know of about 3 or 4 you can get.

well the blitz kit and greddy ones are the only ones i konw. Blitz make it specific for the RunX Z which is our sportivo.the only disadvantage of the kit is that the EMS supplied doesnt work on the australian cars and as a result is not included in the kit. Matt from Blitz Australia told me to go with the greddy Ultimate. And as for the greddy kit i talked to a few guys on the newcelica forum and the guys in greece have completed an install onto a fwd runxz. the two issues they came across were using a new belt which is larger then the one supplied by greddy and also relocation of the water bottle as it is in the way. IF you could tell me what kits you know are available it would be good. my other option is to go custom using a procharger centrifugal charger but it is alittle pricey.

  5. the car is Greece is not the same as ours... it has one major difference... it is left hand drive!!!!

you will find that this turbo kit will not fit in our cars because of the position of the steering column and a few other bits and pieces that are different to the RHD vehicles. But if you are going to get it, then good luck to you. There will be a lot of custom work involved to make it fit.

The car im referring to in greece is supercharged not turbo. It uses the greddy kit for the celica.

  6. just curious how much is the greddy turbo kit setting you back turbosportivo? I heard also there a bit of a pain modyfying to fit the sportivo. Power fc seems the way to go pity nobody in vic can sort the bugs out :(

    Cheers

well i spoke to a few guys and its gonna cost $4000 aud at my door step. It takes 1week to come in from the states. If you were to purchase it here in australia its $5671.50. Ye regarding the issue associated with installing it into the sportivo i saw a thread on newcelica.org and there was a guy in greece whoinstalled it into his runx which is the same car as ours and they required a longer belt and also relocating the water bottle thats about it. The kit comes with everything and as is runs on 8.5psi and with the trust airinx kit produces 81hp at the flywheel. so it is substational gain. if you include extractors and a good free flow exhaust and a aggressive tune or a smaller puley i wouldnt be surprised if you can extractmore power out of it. the guy that installed it in greece had 258hp at the flywheel which is pretty good. and it looks like i am going to be going down this path aswell because after talking with xoom it might not be worth the headache if MWR, or C2 or Hass Pros manifold wont fit. im just getting a price on a custom turbo manifold and if its decent i might go that path otherwise i will be ordering the greddy s/c end of this week. and northy the apexi pfc harness they are working on is for the south african runx and also the matrix xrs and corolla xrs so im pretty sure it would work. my car is a south african build so ye.

  7. hey guys, i need some input about getting a haltech ems. heard it does igitition and fuel control. would this be a good option if i dont plan to go turbo (atm)? any other ems out there that i should look into as well? (apexi power fc is a bit too pricy :( )

well mate the power FC is approx $1250 here in australia but there is no harness for the corolla. However Matt from Monkey Wrench Racing in the US is almost complete in finishing the harness for the corolla and he sells them for $895 USD plus delivery which is about $150 so its a good price. Same as if you were to buy here without the harness and its plug and play unlike here. Other wise you can also get the Greddy Emanage Ultimate for Approx $600AUD imported from US as these units are your top of the range piggy back item. im getting the turbo kit of him and getting the Greddy Ultimate piggy back computer so ye.

  8. Slotted discs allow air to flow around the face that assists cooling.

As far as pads go, ideally you want pads that are matched to the discs as far as temp goes.

no point having 500 degree pads if the discs can only take 350 degrees, and vice versa

if the pads are too hard they will chew up the disc pretty fast if the disc is too hard it won't dissipate as much energy.

Gipper what brand of 6pot calipers you hae on your sportivo and how much. im interested as im in teh midst of putting the blitz supercharger kit onto my sportivo and would like some good stopping power.

  9. gains for the greddy kit are more around the 60hp mark, and dont know anyone with a SC fitted to there sportivo

I have the component list and specifications of the kit and it says running at 8.5psi the kit produces 81-85hp at the flywheel and that includes the MP62 charger, cast aluminium manifold, greddy ultimate pretuned to 100octane fuel 4 x 440cc injectors and all necessary hardware. i called a few places and can get the kit for $3500 aud from the USA which is $2000 cheaper then purchasing it from here in oz.

  10. can u give details of costs and fittings

I can get the Blitz supercharger kit for you for under $7K landed for the kit. Show me the money and I'll show you a supercharger kit with every single bolt for a bolt-on application :D

But yes, that thing sound horny as. I'd be scared to stand next to a car that sounded like that...

TANGCLA can you get teh kit for the Toyota Corolla RUNX not the celica. if so how much i been looking around decidign between the greddy kit or the blitz kit. your input would be great

  11. I dont personally.

It would be possible to add a cooler to the greddy kit with quite a large amount of fabrication.

You would basically have to build an inlet manifold the same as the blitz setup, the fabricate a new outlet pipe for the charger to feed the cooler etc. Basically makes it a waste of time buying the kit from Greddy. If you went down that path it would be cheaper to buy the SC direct from Ogura Japan and get the rest of the stuff fabricated locally.

Then if you're going to that much trouble, there are other charger types you can use which would require less fabrication and modification to fit.

ok cool. I was takling with michael from GCG turbos this morning and with the greddy kit said intercooler is not required unless you plan to increase boost from the setup that greddy are offering. as the kit produces an additional 85hp it is pretty i think and he said with a good cold air induction setup mainly the kit that Greddy recommend you using it shouldnt create much problems. the kit is rated at 8.5psi. however i am still enquiring with blitz regarding there kit as i found the part number for the RUNX kit. it is identical to the celica kit with few bits and pieces being different. thanks for your input ROLLAMODS.

NORTHY do you know anyone in OZ with a supercharger kit on there sportivo? also would a centrifugal charger be possible to fit onto the stivo?

  12. I was planning to get a custom IC kit if i were to go along the path of buying the greddy kit. im from sydney and know a few people that can do it but 3grand extra for a intercooler is quite abit aint it? i can get one for bout 1200 with custom piping and big enough to fill the bumper heheh. So rollamods you know anyone with a supercharged sportivo, i was reading the other day on one of the pages one guy was planing to do it but i dont know if he has. you have any ideas?

  13. That is awesome. so the kit does fit just a few little dramas or big ones lol from the look of things he mentions changing the belt and relocating the water bottle thats about it. i also enquired on the blitz japanese website and they make the kit for the corolla runx aswell but it is alittle more expensive at $8200 delivered in australia where as the greddy unit has no intercooler and is $5300 almost 3grand difference. thanks alot for input. why did northy however say the kit wont fit? do you know of anyone installing the blitz kit or the greddy kit in australia.

  14. they are not the same, and the greddy SC will not just bolt on either, you need to modify few things to get it to fit.

what kind of things we talking bout that need modifying? cause i talked to a guy from VPW in victoria and he said the plenum supplied by greddy would fit only issue being the space for the s/c and the strut tower setup. your input would be great. to date i have an injen short ram intake and greddy evo2 cat back exhaust system. im just looking for 200kw at the motor to make life enjoyable. i enquired down the turbo path with monkey wrench in the states and they have a great kit but unfortunately the manifold interferes in the australian car due to being rhd and to modify it is expensive so he suggested i go the s/c route either the blitz or greddy. but ye input would be great

  15. Hi guys im just curious if anyone can tell me if the chassis/strut tower setup on the 2005 Corolla Sportivo is the same as the setup on the 00-04 celicas as im interested in purchasing the Greddy S/C kit for my corolla and that is the only piece of information that i need to see if they are teh same prior to ordering the kit. all help will be much appreciated.
