Dad had a similar problem with an older camry. It was a faulty switch/button you press in the drivers seat to lock all the doors when you're inside. We stopped using the switch and it stopped the issue. Now it only does it on really hot days. When you lock the car, check to see if all doors fully lock.

Hi Son, yes you do need to cut your old key to retrieve the transponder and put it into the bew shell. Please also bear in mind that the shell i mentioned is not a direct fit for the camry 2003 model, i have cut and shaped it in order to fit original fob circuit board. It is not an easy job and requires lot of patience.
Okay that seems like a lot of work though. Hopefully my remote still has some years left - though the button rubber cover has fallen off...

Ok thanks for your help!

Thanks Jeffy and (mr2). I was thinking of installing some type of red LED strip near the number plate as an extra braking light but I'm not sure if this would be legal in Aus
i think its illegal to have more than the 3rd brake light afaik (as ive read something somewhere other than emergency vehicles or something are the ones allowed to have more lights)
Ahh okay. Wouldn't having a spoiler mean there would be 4 red brake lights??

Thanks for the link. Can you just cut the key to match your current key and use that to start the engine? Or is there a chip of some sort in the original key that you have to remove for the new key to work??

Do you have a photo of this? Maybe a future project when my remote dies...?

My windows are tinted on my 2003 camry and I have no problems getting brisbane radio channels at Helensvale on the gold coast.

My coolant reservoir is also leaking but not as bad as yours. Would like to know the solution as well...

This photo shows where both of them are...
Good point there! i do not have a spoiler, was thinking it was some kind of brake light. Do you think that if I wired a light bulb to the wires (in series) then it would turn on when I press on the brakes? or would there be some special wiring needed

I don't think they are for license plate lights because I already have them and the wires are a different colour to the wires for the plate lights.

Hi guys
I've just noticed that there are these two cable connectors in my boot. One off centre to the left and off centre to the right. The connectors have two pins (1xgreen/white & 1xblack/white(ground?).
Do you guys know what these do??EDIT: they are on the top of the boot lid, near the opening mechanism
Thanks

Penrite HPR5 - Full synthetic 5W-40. Just had a new engine put in my car so the engine is currently sitting on 7000km. Do you reckon that this oil is good enough? I've just replaced my oil at 5000km
