Hi
yes i think the immobiliser works via the remote and there is a spot in the glovebox to insert the toyota factory remote to disarm or re-code a new remote etc.
Do you have any ideas on my dilemma?
On these the immobiliser is all through the remote isn't it, remotes coded into the car from the contacts in the glove box?

Hi
I have a Toyota Camry 1996. I installed an aftermarket alarm but can not work out how to DISABLE completely the Toyota factory immobiliser/horn/alarm.
At present the new alarm is only working thanks to the factory alarm being placed in DISARM mode – a bandaid solution and one that may revert at any time.
Further even in disarm mode, when I push the button on my new remote the factory horn beep occurs and the indicator lights flash according to the factory combination. This is combined with my new alarm beeping and indicator flashing which is almost opposite to the factory one.
So its a bit of a confusing mess. From what ive read online there is something called the CIR or Computer Integration relay that is part of the issue.
Question : How do I totally disable the factory Toyota immobiliser, alarm and horn ?

Hi the reason I wanted to do away with the factory alarm is
1
the remotes are almost dead and can not have a simple battery changed - you need new remotes - new remotes i had quoted at $100 each thats $200 - so I thought why not a new alarm for roughly the same price or couple hundred more at most

The factory system is only a immobiliser - i now have a alarm, including boot and bonnet protection and a Glass break sensor in case someone smashes the windows. Much increased functionality over what I have now, Further the remote can chirp silently or with noise - the new remote not the old Toyota remotes. Battery backup it also has.
So i have increased security plus aethesitcally the horn chirp of the factory toyota system is horrible vs the sound of the new alarm (cosmetic point only i know)

what do you mean by this "Could be safest option to leave it up to Pedro to 'FIX' it for you."
do you know of any experied alarm installers, private individuals or businesses I could try ringing?
