  1. Because you are running in lower gears most of the time with a lot of start and stop, this fuel economy will take quite a dip. 15/100 is quite normal for this. You need to get some higher speeds and some freeway driving to increase your fuel economy. Fuel injector cleaner is a waste of money. Modern cars do not like a lot of slow and lower gear driving.

I am sure that you will be able to locate the posts for removing and repacking the sealed idler pulley bearings. Leave it too long and you may have the added expense of new bearings.

When repacking the bearings, clean them good and only fill the cavity with grease to 25-50%, this is to allow the grease to get into the races and shells, and when the grease gets hot the grease expands and creates pressure, so if the grease is too well packed, the grease will boil over.

  3. Seatbelt King |Seat Belt Extensions, Replacement, Extenders Seatbelt King

Had same problem with driver seat belt. Could not get a new belt. Found this place, they took the old belt and rebuilt it with new parts for $160 cash. This shop accepts mailed in belts for repair. My new sb works like new now. Over time the fibers off the belt jam up the retract mechanism, this place has the equipment to rebuild the belts. I tried air pressure to clean mine but that did not work. The shop did great work. I am going to take another belt to them soon for repair.

  4. Hello everyone. Just replacing rear caliper torque plate boots on my Camry and cannot figure out how to get the boots on the one side. Other side caliper rebuild went ok I think. I cannot find any instructions on the web for doing this, no vids anywhere. I have an original Camry repair manual and a Haynes manual. No instructions. Drawings I have of rear caliper parts are not clear enough to show the fine detail on the small pin boots. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance. Febest did not supply any drawings nor could I find any on their site.

  5. My mechanic charged me $280 to do the rear valve bonnet seal. You have to take apart the manifold and injection system. It stopped the oil leak which means the engine compartment is now much cleaner. The plugs are not that hard, you need the right combination of extensions for your ratchet.

  6. I would be running electrical checks on the defroster grid. Do all  the defroster lines work ? For voltage and continuity? And checking some visible ground wires for cleanliness and tightness.

According to the receipt he gave me he changed the fuel filter. uAlso, I just got a message from the new mechanic; my car arrived there just before and he said it was running again this morning at the tow yard. The roadside assist guy told me yesterday (and I think it was said in an earlier post^) that fuel pumps have a habit of dying and resurrecting before stopping completely? Then again, apparently there are another couple of things that can cause this. I just hope we get to the bottom of it. I haven't felt confident getting in it ever since I bought him it home from Mr rogue. [edit- strikethrough]

There are 2 filters on this car. One on the pump that is a co**** filter, and one under the bonnet. Watch out removing the clip holding the one under the bonnet. Hard to get off and will take off like a rocket never to be found again. It is a unique clip that gets the universal instruction on removing clips which is: "Remove the clip."
