Make sure your smart key isn't next to your phone in your pocket/hand as sometimes this causes interference and won't unlock your car :)
Yes the only issue i've had when it did not unlock was when my keys snuck behind my phone in my pockets.
Congrats on the purchase.

So reading over some autoblogs today and noticed that Scion in the US is primed to axe the XB, given the size of the American market I wouldn't assume it'd far stretch to assume the Australian model Rukus may also face the axe (time will tell :()
http://www.autoblog.com/2012/04/23/scion-xb-xd-models-getting-the-axe/
Bugga.... We might still receive a updated Rumion?
That's what I'm hoping for, the car is still quite popular in Japan so here's hoping that we still get them :)
On a side note I also read somewhere that the Nissan Cube had been axed by Nissan (take that as you want :P)
Ahh yes I see in Canada. Its even more popular then our box.
Id be surprised if Japan axes the Rumion but wont be surprised if we dont get a update here. I wonder when the next Rumion is due?

How did you go with this? What did you end up doing?

Finally have my DRL installed. :)
Probably the simplest and the best suited to Rukus, no cutting required !
Dim function working well with headlights on
The only problem is you will have to take off the whole bumper while you installing the DRL.
Enjoy !
Looks Good.
Much of a price difference between those and the longer ones?

Yes im more looking for longevity. Once I have my 60K service in a few months I may look to try something differant

I check my oil / water levels monthly the 2azfe does go through a bit of oil I've been told still yet to have any issues ( just hit 60k ). I guess your past your capped servicing now so you don't really need to head to Toyota for the servicing just make sure you get the book stamped for future if you decide to ever sell the box
Another Question. What Oil are you guys using that are self servicing / Elsewhere ?
I know my mechanic does use genuine toyota motor oil but purely from a warranty perspective I don't know what other oil you could use but I wouldn't think the engine would be super picky so long as it's the same rating and fully synthetic would be better :)
On second thought see if you can get your hands on royal purple, had a few friends that ran it and felt it was worth the extra outlay.
Yes was thinking Liqui Moly or Royal Purple. Guys in US seem to rave about it.

stolen from toyota nation...
the ticking could just be normal valve noise. The valves use solid lifters that arent adjustable except by swapping shims and a certain amount of noise is ok. If the ticking is fairly low and never changes in pitch or volume, there is a good chance that this is what it is, and it is nothing to worry about.
Cheers. Just have to live with the sewing machine noise...

DSC_0780.jpg I finally put some decent mags on to replace the stocks. 17" Lexus is250 Mags with custom Grey Ash paint job.

mine is EXACTLY like that, i have also taken it to the dealership, it doesn't bother me too much.. my old man is also a mechanic/auto elec, he also knows the boys in the service dep in toyota my rukus is still under warranty if i get time one day ill take it in but if they pull apart the cover and the top end of the engine and there is nothing wrong i will have to pay for labour, there is a ticking noise but like you said they also stated it was normal i think its abit louder than normal, so does my old man but they also said they have ALOT of toyotas louder than this, i guess i really wouldn't worry about it unless you really have to, just see if it gets worst but i have another mate that owns a rukus, same thing mate.
Many thanks for the reply. I guess. its "normal" if yours and others are the same. Goes like a rocket. just annoying unless you have music on....

Hi All, My Rukus seems to have a ticking sound, like a tapet noise. You can hear it a idle after a drive when engine is hot on on highway when you sit on about 2500 rpm. ive taken to my dealing this morning and took one of the mechanics for a drive but they advised this is normal. This doesn't seem normal to me as my other Toyota does not do this. Just wondering if anyone else has the same noise etc

Thanks Friends. Finally found a Toyota dealer that knew what they were talking about. I bought 2 Wiring Harness Part # PZQ60-00141 and PZQ60-00161. Unit Fits perfectly now. was only $30 for both.

Hello Rukus Friends,
I have a 2011 Build one and have purchase a Gen Toyota 6.1 Touch Screen (from a new Corolla). The connectors at the back are different (which I already knew), however you apparently can purchase a wiring harness or conversion. My local Toyota Dealer in Brisbane doesn't think this exists. Ive spoken to all the parts and service persons.Do anyone know of a part # of elsewhere I can look. Its just the Antenna and Sound connection.
The unit powers on and looks very pretty.
Thanks in Advance. :D

Hey Quit. Yea I like it and it was super easy to fit as I got the one designed for the rukus so it had the same plugs. It was an eanon http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/370770650889?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_15873wt_1006. This seller has Aus warranty, but I wasn't impressed with their service. Told me they had in stock so it would take a couple of day but it came from china and took 2 weeks. But overall the unit is quite good and easy to use. Good luck.
Cheer. ill give it agp

Check out my gallery for a pic of my new head unit. Got it off ebay, plugged straight in. no joining wires so it was a piece of cake. Now if I can only find that pesky antenna booster wire. Its got gps, dvd. Bluetooth with ad2p, usb. sd card, and even digital tv,(but im still sortin that out) plus a whole bunch of other stuff all for 300 Aus delivered. I wish it could make cappachinos
Hi Skintoonz, what do you think of the Ebay head unit. whats the sound quality like etc. Im also thinking of updating my build 1 head unit
