  1. I ended up just paying for 6 months of road side assistance and got them to open it up using the airbags. Yeah i do have other toyota's but i double checked just incase that was the case. As soon as they put the booster pack on the alarm went off and could open the door straight away with no problem. Thanks mr2 for all the help.
  2. Yeah i lubricated both keys and the lock. Well thats the strange thing i have opened the door with the key before and there was no problem. I think i will buy the battery charging link.
  3. The key goes in but doesnt turn. It acts the same way if you were using the wrong key(used the spare as well). The boot will not open either. Good point about the glass didnt think about the mess it would make, the guys at toyota advised against trying to wedge the door open as it might make "cause it to lock up and then you will never get it started". Yeah the alternator is the other option, i just thought the started motor would be easier to get to. I am buying one as we speak thanks. regards
  4. yeah it is a little odd that it doesnt work, i tired both keys and the lock in the boot aswell with no luck. Yeah i will just have to give that a go i guess. thanks
  5. Thanks mr2 for the reply but that didnt work.My mate had the idea of getting under the car and connect the battery charger to the started motor before the relay (and the other to the body), that way it might feed enough power to try and open the door, what do you think? In addition to that my other mate suggested that maybe the battery is so flat that even the lock actuators can not be used, which makes a little sense but at the same time i always thought that the locks are mechanically driven through the turning of the key instead of motor driven? In terms of locksmith vs breaking a window, i intended up calling a few wreckers in the area and find out what was the cheapest aurion window they have and comparing that against the price of a locksmith call out, Thanks again for the reply
  6. I have a rather large problem. i parked my '06 sx6 aurion for two weeks and the battery went dead flat.I tried using the both(spare) remote controls and both keys and neither will open the door, which is odd as they have opened the door before. I called my local toyota service center and they said "you will have to break one of the windows to get into the car and open the bonnet". Although that is an option, i was interested if anyone else had other ideas? regards clint (yes, i did check if it was my car)
  7. hey. Yeah it was a rattle on the gearbox cover(around the gear stick).I had a bit of a look at it on how to tackle the problem easiest way possible, but did not get far. Any thoughts? regards
  8. Hey . I have a '06 sx6 with a gearbox cover rattle. Most people got there rattle fixed under warranty, but i bought mine 2nd hand. The question has anyone fixed there rattle them self? If so how did they do it? and how hard was it? regards clint
  9. jeffy, could you post more pictures when it's done? also your engine bay looks a little different from mine, is it an aurion?
  10. Do you think it would be possible to have the best of both worlds in terms of CAI and SRI? Having the SRI and than have it piped to behind the fog lights as bangtown did? With this in mind You might be able to include the stock scoop in the piping for increased air volume?
  11. hey thanks for the reply, i am actually rather surprised at that result. i would of assumed that being TRD they would try for as light as possible. i read somewhere that reducing the weight of your wheels(rims and tyres) you get a large increase in response and fuel economy but a factor of 4 i think. just seeing if it was worth trying to buy the TRD wheels. regards
  12. hey. Interested in the TRD wheels. But im interested whats the weight of the TRD wheels? Also if there is a difference in weight of the TRD wheels vs the sx6 wheels? regards clint
  13. Thank you all for your advise, helped me Out alot. I'm looking to buy a presara, but appreciate the offer. One more thing, why are cars for Queensland cheaper then nsw?
  14. Hey again. After quite alot of research and test driving,I have decided to buy a used 07'-09' used presara. My question is, is there anything to look out for when buying these cars? how many kms is to many with the Aurion? Any advice or opinions would be very much appreciated.
