  1. Hi the dane :)

The extra space is the unused part if you dont have a Grand Model , so owners with the lesser models have a left over gap to do what ever they like with it.You will see with the following picture , the sat nav/radio is bigger and has the extra features .

  2. I have just bought a used 2011 Kluger Grande AWD with 45k kms and am averaging 21.4L/100km!

I have done 170km since I purchased it, and filled it up with BP Ultimate 98 off an empty tank.

I have also filled each tire to 40psi each.

Could it be possible that the previous owner tempered with the regulation of the fuel system? , eg changing chips or settings for extra grunt for towing etc? .

Im interested to see how you go and what the service centre finds...........hope all can be sorted for you as they are GREAT cars to drive.

  3. Don't use cruise in heavy rain!!! It can be dangerous

I have read where some US car manufacturers now have added a cruise control overide , once the wipers are turned on.Once the wipers are off , the cruise control can be activated once again.

  4. They did tell me an additional plug/connector is required to hook up the camera to the sat nav .The connector is only a few bucks but i wasnt given a price as yet on how much the labour would be.The reason im getting them to do it as i would have no idea how to safely remove the unit and connect it correctly , without damage or scratching the plastic surround. My next service is due in December (20,000km) , so i will get it done then.

  5. Hi Alex , my reverse camera is still on the small display screen and not on the Stereo. I do want to get it hooked over onto the larger screen . as nice as the little display is to have (safety wise) , even Toyota concluded its too small .Ive been told i can get it hooked over and will get done at my next service due December.

    Cheers Dan.

  6. When i was getting my Kluger serviced today , i took note of the display model that was set up inside the service area.It had Toyo tyres (open country).

It was a brand new Grande model.

  7. Warranty or even extra warranty will not cover a broken tail light (self error).Im just curious , if you were backing in backwards , you didnt use the reverse camera screen to help?

We all make mistakes , and have to learn from them .I say let your dad know what you did as hiding it from him and trying to get it repaired over a long weekend public holiday is pretty much impossible.Remember when your dad was young he too would of made mistakes and had to deal with them , no one is perfect we are all only human.

Good luck and try not to stress :)

  8. So...........................

On April 9th Toyota announced a recall for 6.39 Million cars world wide (link below) .Our Kluger steering issues was not addressed in the recall .I feel now that there is never gonna to be a fix , as they would of recalled the Kluger as well at the same time .I cant see them doing another big and public recall just for the Kluger any time in the future , as they will be doing everything they can to try and rebuild their public image .

Looks like the problem steering is here to stay :(

  9. The clip you mentioned , ive seen that one too .Its actually the clip from the previous model that Toyota hasnt removed from the web site for some reason. When you see the outside and the dash , its the previous model :)

  10. RE the captain's chairs from the first post - they are still there. Just look at the video on the seating arrangements and they are still there.

I just watched the clip from the site , it only shows a 60/40 for the middle row , and on the 60 it has one large storage bin that folds down to rest arms on.The "captains chairs" from the prevoius model havent been carried over the same way :).

  11. Hi ,

Checking the Toyota website today i see that they are now offically advertising the new look Kluger. The models are now known as GX , GXL and Grande (in either 2wd or 4wd versions). One thing that did catch my attention is they no longer have the captain styled chairs for the middle row , its now just simply 60/40 and no removeable centre console/seat.I love the captain style chairs and think it was a great feature .

    Dan :)
