  1. MAP81 has GT4 twin spot calipers and larger discs, braking performance increase over ebc greenstuff with DBA slotted rotors was phenominal.

Ok cool. I assume the standard front Stivo Calipers are single piston? Also, how big are the discs on the Stivo? Sorry for going a bit OT...

    Cheers :D

  2. Ok then. Say I didn't go with the stroker kit, shouldn't I still go with sleeves if I intend on doing cams, pistons, rods, valves etc..??? Or is it safe to not sleeve the block, and just steer clear of Bore damaging pistons (Wiseco...)???

    Cheers :D

  3. Haha thanks mate :D

I've actually already gone through the MWR website, and converted all prices to AUD, and listed the parts required for such a conversion, and the pricing involved etc... Like I said, I just need to find a workshop in Adelaide ;)

I asked about Adelaide workshops and tuners in another thread, but no one replied :(

    Cheers :D

  4. Hey guys :D

I've tried several searches, on several forums, but I never seem to find anything, that specifically answers my question...

Who, in Adelaide, is a trusted tuner of Toyotas??? I'm hoping to (maybe...) get some work done to our Sportivo some time in the future, but I can't seem to find much information about any reliable tuners of NA cars in Adelaide

It would be nice if the tuner had experience with Power FC ECUs... I've heard Fours'N'More are (or were) good, but not too sure about whether they tune PFCs. Jaustech??? Anyways... Yeah, I have no idea, so any help from anyone in the know would be great :D

    Cheers :D

  5. Also, to anyone who's had it fixed properly... Does this get rid of the notchy feel in the gearbox for general shifting (up OR down gears)???

no, that's just the way the gearbox is.

You can try changing the gear oil to Redline Super Lightweight Shockproof but it's expensive.

Damn... That sucks :( How much would enough of that oil cost??? Ballpark figure is ok...

    looking at ~$100-120

Ok cool... After driving it all day today... I reckon it'll be worth forking out the dosh for some of that oil... Really needs it ;)

    Cheers :D

  6. Well our next service is in 1000kms or so... It's not at a Toyota Dealer though, but at an awesome mechanic that does all of our servicing... He even builds drag cars in his workshop as a hobby :D

Also... His brother in law has a Stivo so I reckon he might already know about the clutch problem and HOPEFULLY knows how to fix it... Fingers crossed ;)

    Cheers :D

oh i miss read it i thought it was due for its 1000km service :P thats ok then hit lift all u want xD~

Haha nah man... I'm not THAT stupid... I don't think I am anyways :P

i went to chatswood and asked the guy about clutch adjustement and he drove the car and he shifted in lift so easily. i couldnt even go from 1st to 2nd when i bought it now its easy you just have to get used to it. now i gotta try n do 2nd to 3rd easy lol

WTF! Don't you hate that... I don't see how you can get used to something that just DOESN'T WORK... I better not get told that by the guy that I ask to do the adjustment... 1st to 2nd is the ONLY shift that sucks in lift... I'd like to see the mechanic try it... It simply DOES NOT BUDGE... 2nd to 3rd is easy and 3rd to 4th (only did it once...) was very easy as well...

    Cheers guys :D

  7. Ok... Had a look this morning (The Stivo is mine this week :D), and noticed that the Clutch pedal is basically at the same height as the Brake pedal... Anyone (whether you've had it adjusted or not) able to have a look at where there clutch pedal is compared with the brake pedal??? Just trying to see if the idea of actually rasing the clutch pedal is what they do to fix it... Also, if/when you post up what you've found, post whether you've had the problem fixed and how you had it fixed... i.e. New clutch, or clutch adjustment etc.

P.S.... Foruming SUCKS without a mouse...

    Cheers :D

  8. Woohoo I'm not an idiot after all

Good info there guys... I like it :D

    Cheers :D

If you want somthing new, RWD and a hatch go spend 60k on a 1 series Beemer (130i).

its been said that this Beemer is the closest you'll get to the M3 in performance out of any BMW under the 140k M3 price tag

Good point... Mmmmm... M Coupe is HOT as well... VERY hot... :D

    Cheers :D

  10. I purchased my 2nd sportivo 2 months ago. And i knew before i bought it it would have this issue. So i had the clutch replaced for exedy HD, and all problems solved! I know cause i have done this twice! I have had my tranny oil replaced, thined out, had my clutch pedal adjusted and been through 6 months of fighting with toyota. The end result both times was to replace the clutch

Its not your driving.. Its very common, dont let people bag your driving when they havent seen you drive. Good luck with it :D

Hmmm... Clutch swap sounds like the way to go... How much did the Exedy set you back, if you don't mind me asking???

Also, thanks for that... I try not to let people bag my driving... If I said I was a pro... and I sucked, then yeah, bag my driving, but I never said I was a pro... I know I'm still learning :)

    Cheers :D

  11. dont mean too sound like a old fart too but if you do cain it too much you will eventually break something. I have payed the consequences for being inexperienced with my stivo and was lucky to be covered by warranty.

So if your going to hit lift like over a dozen times on a 30 min commute then i would suggest a HD clutch cause constant 1-2 "in lift" shifts will fry it. Other than that i did have the same issue with my 05' and normally toyota dont know it as a "clutch adjustment" at least thats what 3 service centres told me, its the free play you have in your clutch from engagement to the full release i had mine reduced an now i finally have perfect 1-2 shift in lift. Time for a drag again vvtlir (prob still kik my butt  )

Yeah I don't hit lift in 1st anymore... Only done it a couple times... I learnt my lesson after that. I don't speed either, so if I do hit lift, it'll only be in 2nd if I want to get to a speed limit of 110km/h or so... No need to hit lift in normal driving... It's pretty zippy normally anyways.

    Cheers :D
