Hilux Acceleration Hesitation in Hilux Club Posted March 4, 2014 I do know this forum is quite old but I have an answerI own a 2.7 2004 hilux with acceleration hesitation it Has had it since new. Now this ute was council owedAnd was my drive car and by chance i happened to buyIt so the council mechanics couldn't fix it, Toyota couldn't Fix it neither could holden or ford BUT I found a mechanicWho works miracles and has fixed it at zero cost!!!!Now to fix it open your diagnostic box under the bonnetLook at the top left hand corner you may see a tiny Bridging pin pull that out and it's done!! Just drive it so Management system can settle itself out. What that bridgingPin does is... The engine is self timing when they first buildThe engine the put the pin in to "lock" the timing so when the Engine tries to self times it can't they forget to remove the pin.Hey try it see how you go my hilux is a new car beautifulTo drive with alot more hp as a bonus.
