From the title of your thread i had an idea you were talking about a ta22!
sorry to see your not going through with it.
im sure you will find someone to take over the project,
otherwise put me down for the carby, rooflining and carpet.
door trims look interesting too,
thanks, Enri.

Hi,
Just stumbled onto this forum, and was suprised to see the amount of stout owners!
I have a 75 stout that is in desperate need of a front bumper and a bed. I took the tray off long ago and have been searching for a bed to replace it, and it has never had a bumper on it since i've owned it. I have been looking almost daily on ebay and the usual places with no luck...
I'm based on the outskirts of Sydney, but will go anywhere to score these parts.
Thanks Simon.
i saw a green one sitting in the corner of alan street motors in port kembla. might be worth a try.

that story has been denied by the team and was only printed in 1 paper and picked up by a lowly reliable website.
You will notice that Autosport, the most respected website, did not run that story and for good reason, it's false.
i read that story on a f1 site and they seemed to be quoting his exact words. the only other rumour i have heard is that he boiled the hydrauics and lost controls untill they cooled down. is that possible? either way it still points to driver error.
on eurosport news, hamilton said he was trying to win the championship gloriously by winning the race. you would think an experienced team boss would have talked to him and told him to drive for position.

i have a 2t-geu motor and want to konw if a 3t-gte head will bolt on or not??
i dont know but id say it could be possible. the 3t is a 18 version of the 1600 2t
for example the 1.5 (84mm bore) heads on my alfa boxer are identicle as the 1.2 (80mm bore)
this is because the doming and valves are entirely within the 80mm diameter.
if you have the 3t heads off and you knew the bore of the 2t you could measure it.

Mark Webber slammed his rookie Red Bull stablemate Sebastian Vettel on Sunday after getting punted out of a career-best finish at Fuji.
The Australian, who was running high in the order in the treacherous conditions despite reports of food poisoning and vomiting in his helmet, was knocked out of the race by Toro Rosso's Vettel while the safety car circulated.
Talking live to the British broadcaster ITV, Red Bull driver Webber slammed the German 20-year-old - hailed in the paddock on Saturday night for an impressive performance in qualifying - as a "kid".
"It's kids isn't it?" Webber said, amid whispers that Vettel's separate earlier collision with Fernando Alonso may have contributed to the Spaniard's almost certainly title-ending spin and high speed crash.
Webber, adding that he noticed Vettel being 'a bit wild' in his mirrors, continued: "They have not got enough experience - they do a good job and then they **** it all up.
"He did a very good job of hitting me very hard."
its a pitty because when the pace car left weber would have been in a position to challenge for the lead, and hamilton probably would not have risked trying to hold him off.
i heard him say the f word too!

The court documents are available on the FIA website if anyone is bored and wants to read them.
http://www.fia.com/mediacentre/Press_Relea.../190907-01.html
These have been edited since the originals had some info in them that talked of the actual Ferrari technology instead of being blanked out. I wish I got them earlier :(
i havnt tried it but i heard there is a bug in it and if you cut and paste the blanked out bits into another browser or something it comes back up.

belgium gp
not much in the top three, then hamilton is half a second behind. i watched the qualifying this morning. couldnt see any reason for it. mabey he has stopped using ferraris stolen technology in the hope he might get away with it.
nearly a second to next best , a toyota too! and another good show from webber. enough stating the obvious, race starts at 10.55pm aest. hopefully the mclarans will self destruct and the seris comes back to life again

what engine series is in the stout?

channell 10 sydney has delayed the telecast of the monza grand prix from 10.30 pm till 2am due to a rugby match that doesnt even involve australia. how about that.
monza is a procession anyway

when i test drove the 2004 cvx kluger the transmission was silky smooth. you couldnt even tell when the gear changes. the gearbox held its ratios longer and didnt kick back so late and violently. but that only lasted a short while then things started to change.
could it be the computer adapted to my wifes light footed way of driving and so didnt work well for me when i occasionally drove it with my heavy footed style?
also being used to driving manuals, one time in an emergency stop i instinctivly went for the clutch at the same time as the brake and ended up slamming on the handbrake! a loud buzzing noise added to the panic but luckily it didnt lock up.
and the painfully slow power seat slide, the dealer fitted boot mat thas doesnt allow for the rear seat to be raised, the wind buffering noise that made it impossible to drive with the windows open, the baby seat which really only worked on the drivers side, and crapy resale. i lost 18k in a couple of years and only travelled 20k
but to me it was pleasing to look at in dark blue with tinted windows and the fitted reverse park assist was reassuring as was the toyota reliability

you would be the first person to like the original designs lines.
even the dealers were horrified.
probably because the old one was conservative and not flashy
what about the interior. did the new one address that? i havnt seen one up close.
the old one had about 20 storage compartments and yet no-where to put anything. the cup holders were at the bottom of a storage tray and if you put anything under the centre consoul it rolled out and got stuck under your brake pedal. then there was the pedal handrake and the shocking woodgrain of the grande model.
why couldnt the 3rd row seat split fold???? choose between the pram and 6th passenger - but not both. unless you have a stroller, or one of those prams that need to be disasembled to fit it in. its almost easier to take 2 cars
and why was the throttle so jerky. too scared to squeeze the throttle that extra millimetre or it might suddenly drop back a gear and rip your head off. tiptronic would be nice. and why cant a motor with that much technology be fuel efficent?
it was well priced, compact, and had all the features on paper. my wife liked driving it. but not me
-
the first model had clean lines, good package and price
i bought one new but sold it soon after because it drove terribly
5 spd auto , but manually you could only drop from 5th to 4th which was useless because the gearing was way too high.
now they dont even look good anymore , the only savior could be if the 3rd row seat split folds

you would have an 18R-C in a 78 corona
how about an 18R-G twin carb?
that will give you nice sound and you can do the exhaust too
there used to be a nice orange one getting around like that

you have to remove the instrument cluster and alternate one of the two holes on the electronic board on the back.
its not too bad. modern cars come apart easily if you know how and where to pull on
allow an hour or 2 for a first timer
a dealership should do it in 15mins
-
the 5Le has the electronic engine management and about 6kw over the 5L
i remember taking delivery of my 5L 1998 extra cab 4wd and the shock horror of lack of performance when i pulled out of the dealership
of course they only let me test drive a 2wd 5le without body before purchasing!
the std air cleaner has a helix effect so i wouldnt tamper with it for performance gains
extractors will make it tingy and ringing noise if you like that
with both options small gains proportional to extra noise
i went for an aftermarket turbo (after the painfull first 100,00km under warrenty)
which
back then they wouldnt put one on your motor because its the electronic version
but in the last 3 years a local mob in wollongong called turbo glide are doing a kit that gives 40% gain , but $3300.00 !

whats with the proportions on the 2000gt
something about the distance between the windscreen and the front wheel
-
thanks chobis
im near sydney
stay tuned , ill post more photos soon
the car is going to stay original so your right about the brakes.
i pulled them apart this week and was impressed by the quality of the aluminiun cylinders at the front.
mabey just a duel circuit master cylinder for safety would be an appropriate modification
the car is in very good original unrestored condition. even the drivers seat is like new.
it has the front windscreen sunshade but no rear louvre.
