  1. heard the skylines turbo are always on boost like the ones in the rally cars forgot what the system is called

    "Anti-Lag System"? "Backfiring System"?

But, but what about the FT-HS. Wheres the loyalty??

I wouldn't go out of my way to vomit on that thing... looks terrible.

Toyota have dropped the ball in terms of performance

Ouch, not for everyone then. But I do agree, it seems all the 'fast' cars stopped being made 10 years ago, from most of the brands, not just Toyota.

  2. “Changes in the strength of the Australian dollar affect all manufacturers and businesses have to manage that risk,” Mr Macfarlane said.

I reakon thats about it, the companies should not be asking the government for money just cause our economy is getting stronger. Just cause they aren't making as much profit. They might have to put prices up to cover extra cost, but pulling out all together is rediculous.

  3. Just did that -

    Toyota - $442

All genuine parts I would assume.

    Ultratune - $381

All parts are equal or better. For example, they use genuine Toyota spark plugs and Magnatec oil.

He said, because they do a lot of services on new cars, they have to use good parts etc to maintain the standard to keep your waranty etc.

  4. Forgot to clarify, I don't have any waranty issues, so I can take it wherever. And they stamp the handbook anyways. I have already taken my car to Ultratune for the last to 10k services, but wan't to know if its worth going to Toyota for the ones that require new parts. I assume Ultratune just use basic brand replacements, whereas Toyota use genuine parts.

  5. Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask around here first. I am coming up to the 80k service on my Corolla Conquest, so that means all fluids, plugs, filters etc.

Is there any benefit staying with Toyota to get the service done? or will Ultratune do just as good a job?

I haven't got prices yet, but I would usually assume that Toyota would be more expensive?

    Cheers,

    C.j

  6. Pffft, who wouldn't want a Bently.

But anyways, I sorta believe in it, but its not as simple as people think. You can't just be positive every now and then, and expect a Bently to fall from the sky. I'd say you have to be real positive in everything you do.

It certainly sounds nice anyways. But then there Murphey's Law which comes along ans f's everything up aswell.

  7. I think that PS3 definately has alot more power. Sony has always been ahead of its time, trying to bring new technologies in.

    For example

And the HD DVD vs BluRay battle isnt so simple anymore, although I thinks its all a bit stupid, as no sonsumer is going to have 4 different players just to watch movies. There will eventually be one dominant format. See below.

    Another format

    And another

And after all that, I myself stick with PC because of its flexibilty. :)

  8. Theres this thing called the visual arts conceptual framework, which basically consists of the following:

    ARTWORK, ARTIST, AUDIENCE, WORLD.

each of them are related to the others.

without going into too much detail into explaining this stuff...

basically the artist wants the viewer to question what is valuable and what is not.

the artist creating this (artwork)performance/video/sculpture, wants you (the audience) to get the kind of reaction you are expressing right now.

you are thinking it is a huge waste because society (the world) is telling you that is a waste.

so i guess the artists work is done :P

if some african tribesman whod never seen a car before saw the crushed car, he probebly wouldnt care less.

in the end it is just a material luxury. how important is that kind of stuff? supposed to make you think bout all that crap which is why its CONCEPTUAL art. kinda like paintings that are just blobs of colour.. its not the artwork thats important, its the concept behind the artwork which makes it worth something.

I get what you mean, but I see a Porsche as a piece of art to start with. So what he did is comparable to spray painting over a fine painting done by another artist for example. That isn't art, thats just plain wrong.
