My current spec Rav4 petrol often has a 'lag' when I press the accelerator to take off.

Service guys can't replicate the problem.

If I take off and move into an intersection, the RAV4 often 'lags' until I pump the accelerator.

Pretty scary if I jump out into oncoming traffic.

Flat or hill starts, doesn't matter.

Seems fuel related, anybody experienced and solved this issue?
