  1. Hi Guys,

Just got a 100 series Cruiser. Love it. 2000 model. Petrol 4.5l.

I filled up both tanks but can't seem to use the sub tank. As soon as i press the sub button the car stalls about 3 seconds later.

The fuel doesn't seem to be flowing. Anyone experienced this before? Is there a separate pump for the sub tank?

    Thanks

  2. Since the headrests are part of the safety system in the car, are the ones you have purchased on EBAY Australian ISO approved?

I was looking for a set for my car, and the only ISO safety approved ones in Australia were the Schneider ones that cost around $900

  3. Apart from the fact that the subaru is ugly, you will find that the resale value on the premium models is terrible.

Hi had a 3.0r Spec B before the Aurion. Cost around 55k. Sold it with 59,000km, immaculate only 2.5 years old and could only get $30k

    Aurion should sell for more.

What did your aurion cost on the road? The 2007 ZR6's with less than 50,000km look to be advertised for $30K or less on carsales

I got my ZR6 Driveaway for $42k. It has 59,000km on it and is immaculate. It has Sat Nav, and the Kappa Wheels. It will now be three years old on March 28th. I bet i could maybe get $28k for it. Thats only a 33% loss in Value over 3 years. FANTASTIC.

The liberty lost 45% in 2.5 years.

    Even so

    45% of $55k = $25k loss :(

    33% of $42k = $14k loss YAY

  4. I would say its a bad earth somewhere on the car.

Also check that your glovebox light or boot light isn't stuck on. (the swtich may be faulty). I had this problem with my previous Subaru Outback. Interior light would randomly turn on during the night due to a faulty switch and then flatten the battery.

It would run the battery low and cause havoc with the electronics.

    Good luck with it.

  5. ^ something the bogan-dore/cons fans will never understand or accept... lol :P

    Thats a pretty strong generalisation.

I have both a new Xr6 turbo and a ZR6 Aurion. Out of the factory the falcon is a better all round car - hands down no contest.

The Zr6 with coilovers can match it for cornering abilty, but doesn't even come close when comes to putting the power down.

I own both cars - and i think i qualify when i say that's a totally unbiased opinion.....

  6. OMG what have they done!!!

Don't mind the front bar. Tail lights look terrible. YUK.

Aurion Badge is out of place. Doors look plain without bump mouldings.

Stereo - What can i say. Thats the biggest step backward on the facelift. What were they thinking!! Ok it has a colour screen (from what i can tell in the photos), but it looks like a cheap aftermarket addon. The Auspack unit, looks way better.

  7. Hi DKzr6,

Rob sent me update with these instructions, is this what u did to your mates unit?

what he says about stuffing it up has me worried.

I am a bit confused about what to do after update has finished, Rob says remove SD card and finish update, he says I should see a window that says "update OK". I have attached photo of it, do I just click OK on it and that's it or what?

    Thanks for your help.

    from Rob, below

[i am not sure this is the problem but the files are attached.

Uncompress the attached file and copy it into the root directory of a blank SD card.

Insert this SD card into the unit then power on the unit again, the software should automatically update.

If it fails to update automatically, choose"autorun.exe" from "navigation setup" in NAVI mode and return to click "navigation" to start the update.

It is important that there is no power disruption or DO NOT POWER OFF the unit during update, or else the IC will be burnt, and the unit will be bricked.

After the update is finished, it will show the attached picture "update ok".

Then remove the SD card and finish update to see if radio can receive GPS signals now.

    Regards

    Rob]

    Hi,

Once it says OK down the bottom. Press OK at the top corner of the window. This closes the update program. Remove the SD card and restart your satnav software.

If the update does not start automatically, go into the satnav options and setup the update as the file to run when you start your satnav. When you start your satnav the software will run instead. Once finished make sure you change the setting back to your satnav folder so that it will run.

    Daniel.

  8. Hi all.

How are you guys goin with lowered springs, big wheels and std shocks??

Any of them blown/ bouncy or are they holding up??

    Cheers guys

    Hey,

I had to replace the front left shock twice after lowering it. Didn't like the new ride height. I've ended up going with fully adjustable coil overs.

    Daniel

  9. I Had a geniune toyota towbar fitted to my ZR6. The guy came to my house to install it. He does all the installations for the local toyota dealership.

He connected the wiring for the connecter straight in to the wiring for the rear lights (no adaptor). All works fine without any problems. Has been fine for almost 2 years now.

  10. OK, so an update.

After replacing the links and bushes there was no improvement.

Pedders suggested i replace the shocks. Pedders shocks will be out around August. I didn't want to wait, and i also didn't want to pay for another Toyota shock.

I decided to contact pedders head office to enquire about availability of parts and what i could do to resolve my problem. In the end they offered me a solution which i was willing to try.

Pedders have a coilover setup which which was not yet test fitted for the Aurion. ( I assume it comes from the Camry). They offered to install the coil overs at a reduced price for the opportunity to test fit them to my car and help resolve my issues.

I figured why not. I took the car in and Terry at Pedders Campbelltown had everything fitted. He installed a set of Pedders Extreme XA adjustable coil overs front and rear and a set of adjustable camber plates. This allows adjustment for ride height, damping and camber.

    The result.......

We'll what can i say WOW absolutely amazing. The ride quality and handling is outstanding. Its totally transformed the car.

The damping allows me to set the ride from soft (much softer than stock) to hard - really hard.

For everyday roads i couldn't live with the hardest setting - it would be great if Sydney roads were not so crap. The softest setting is great for everyday driving - Must be my old age setting in.

I currently have it set at 1/3 of the way up from the softest setting, its a good compromise. The ride and handling is much much better than just with the lowered springs.

If anyone is considering lowering their car - seriously look at coilovers - its worth it.

Since i had the first Aurion done, i don't know if all the Pedders stores will do them yet, But if you give Terry at campbelltown a call, and mention that you are interested in coilovers like Daniel (me) with the white Aurion had installed, i'm sure he can help you.

I won't tell you the price, as i don't really know what they are worth at retail prices.(i think arounf $2500 approx). I paid less becasue it was test fitted to my car.

Anyway i'm stoked at the results, and amazed at the difference.

Big thumbs up to Pedders customer service, they were great in sorting out the problem.

BTW - The knock was caused by a spring modification (not done by pedders).

  11. Hey,

Took my car in to get looked at and had the sway bar links, and bushes replaced. This didn't really help much, (maybe a little), but the knock and the creak is still there.

Took the car back and it was determined that the shock is causing the knock, and the springs are causing the creak where they sit in the seats.

The repairer has been helpful in finding and offering solutions.

Car is going back to have some further repairs/modifications next week. Will let you know how it goes once its done.

  12. Hmm intrested and going to follow this thread.

also did they cut the bump stop rubber when lowered?

when you replaced the spring with lowered ones how many km did you do before noticed this noise?

    Azza

Both noises started with about a month about 2000km. I don't think they cut the bump stop rubber.

The creaky noise comes and goes with the weather. Happens more when its about to rain. Moisture content in the air must affect the rubber.

  13. Hi Guys,

I have a question for anyone who fitted lowered springs to their Aurion. I installed pedders springs on mine back in 2007. Shortly after, the front left shock started to make a knocking sound over sharp bumps on the road. I got toyota to replace the shock.

The knock has returned. I have been told that this is because the factory shock is not designed to run on a lowered spring. (does anyone else have this problem????)

I've asked about pedders shocks to fit the lowered springs... they don't have any. Did anyone manage to find a manufacturer who makes a lowered shock for the aurion?

Second issue i've noticed is that since i lowered the car i have a rubber squeak/creak when going over small bumps slowly (like driveways etc). It sounds like the spring in the pad/seat that it sits in. has anyone else experienced this?

I think i was one of the first/early people to lower an aurion, and maybe these noises are all long term side effects that may come up fo other people in the future.

I've take the car to my local Midas who checked and tightened everything, but still cant get rid of the noises. I don't want to replace the shock with another toyota shock if the same thing will happen.

Any fedback from anyone who has lowered their aurion would be great.
