  1. if you have a closer look at the snorkel it goes narrower, it does make it a little louder then stock when you have the cold air feed

theres no real huge gain but you can feel the difference from the stock snorkel

ok true sounds good. i am guessing your running some kind of K&N panel filter yea ? I just had a more detailed look then and it looks like it could be a good short term fix.

What is the cheapest cai kit there like $250 300 yea ?

    Thanks by the way

    Dave

well i still got the stock panel filter, but i definately recommend getting a better flowing panel filter

which will still cost over $100 FOR k&N BRAND

  2. I drive a 2005 sportivo and think it's a really great care.

Bought it cause i had a baby boy so was loooking for a family car plus power so opted for the sportivo.

very happy with it. in regards to sportivo and other models theres not much difference mainly the engine is different. and add bodykit on the stivo.

but again it's what your most happy with.....

  3. I also got 20% tint on my car.

they are not too dark during the day and at night they are pretty dark if you want privacy.

Had it on for more than 3 years, no problem with the police.

as you can see on the picture the back looks darker than the front windows.

  4. There's Spectre performance from the US

    www.spectreperformance.com

They sell at autobarn, not sure if they sell at any other place.

You can buy the parts seperately if you want a cai or sri.

Pretty good and cheap as well, i bought some parts to make a sri and it was pretty good.

cost me all up about $100 using a Drift pod filter

  5. Hey everybody,

Just had a question for the members who drive 05 sportivo's, when you are on the freeway doing 100km, where are your revs sitting?

Mine are between 3000rpm to 3500rpm, and it is quite loud to be honest.

Is this normal or mine running hi revs?

Could it be my tires that are doing this?

Any advice or feedback would be great.

    Thanks

    Denz

  6. Got a little problem with my Stivo

    after installing my sri

i noticed a little lag in the rev range between 4500 - 5500 rpms

it was fine when i had the stock box but after installing the sri it started happening

does this happen to any1 with a cai or sri?

should i reset the ecu or is it the sri?

    cheers Denz

  7. thought i would intro myself becuz i didnt know about this noob thread and been on here for a few months now

so anyways name is dennis but can call me Denz

live in melb the werribee area

i drive a 05 Blue Corolla Sportivo, i think it was the last one that was ever made

cuz i had to wait for it to be biult in japan and it was the end of the year of the facelift models

no mods done yet becuz i have a son and saving money for a house.

how i envy some of the guys on this forum who have time and money to mod your cars.

but me in the other hand =FAMILY=HOUSE

onli got a cold air feed from the fog lights into the airbox.

quite surprised in the extra little bit of torque you get out of doing this little DIY job

and also some DIY eyelids as well and badges all taken off except for toyota and corolla ones (SLEEPER!!!!)

    thats it for now

    cheers Denz....

  8. I wonder how much this will end up costing, it will be cheaper than buying a trd, sem, injen or shift CAI. Looks very good and has models made for our car, which you piece together.

well i sussed it out when i was checking it out at autobarn

it will cost know more then 300 for sure

but i was thinkin of buildin a short ram intake rather then the full system that they have

cuz it will be cheaper and less parts to buys

then just get a cold air induction pipe straight to the pod filter

i think it will be quitegood

the only thing is that i will need to buy brackets to hold it in place

  9. I have thought to myself maybe as a cheaper option i might be able to find a nicely priced stock 2001 model sportivo. I know it is going to be hard but i might have one lined up with low kilometres. Only thing i'm awaiting is how much the old girl wants for her turbo sportivo, i'm hoping under $14000.

So i'm after a bit of information and constructivce criticism from some of you blokes who know about these turbo models. Basically how they hold up against the 03-05 sportivos

Firstly i understand the engine is boosted with a small IHI turbo not sure how much boost it runs standard but i'm guessing something low like 6-8psi. If so is this easilly modifiable by a boost controller. I guess the question is how much boost can this engine take also considering the internals are apparently the same as the stock 7afe (no forged pistons). I have read injectors and a few things on the exhaust manifold are different and also the ECU, beefed up clutch as well i heard. I'm thinking maybe there is greater potential for more power at a cheaper rate in this car compared to the 2zzge.

Another question is although this power output is only 115kws compared to 141kws does the apparent extra torque of the turbo help with being able to keep with a 2zzge or will the 2ZZ eat it alive.

Any information would be great thanks guys.

i dont know much about that sportivo

    onlyheard it wasnt that good

but dont know for sure '
