Certainly would not worry about rust on the brake rotors. Presumably you are referring to the vent section. If there is rust on the braking surface of the rotor, it will soon disappear with a bit of driving. Be more concerned about the thickness of the rotors and the brake pads.

Would not be too worried about the exhaust particularly if it is only light surface rust.

You could try applying rust convertor to the rust on the exhaust if you really wanted to.

Thanks heaps mate I didn't think it was much to worry about, the rust is basically anywhere but where the pad touches, it's quite minor.

  2. Hi all

    firstly g'day all I'm new here 👍👍

    just after some advised/reassurance ( hopefully )

we recently brought a 2010 Toyota kluger kxr awd. Beautiful car, drives well, immaculate.

however I have noticed that under the body on the exhaust, brakes ( Discs ) and other metal parts that there is some minor surface rust, there's dirt present so it's obvious that it's been taken off road, but doesn't seem to have been knocked around,

is the rust something to be worried about ?

is there a way of cleaning it off or preventing it from getting worse ?

    thanks all
