  1. Well i also remembered that this year will be the first year the car will have to be properly checked as the last 3 registrations required no check up so i think the owner is trying to offload the car before it gets up to rego and it will be unregisterable for the new owner.

Walk away mate, does not sound right for a car so young.

Look at other cars and save yourself any headaches later on.

  2. The old 5 speed has nice close ratios for driving around town but makes the engine pull 3000rpm at 100km/h in 5th which isn't exactly relaxed or economical cruising on a highway.

I've always wanted a sixth overdriven gear for use on freeways that would drop rpms to 2500 or less at 100km/h, I guess many others thought the same and Toyota delivered what the customers wanted + because the new car is heavier they've had to make many such changes to reduce the fuel consumption.

The Sportivo's ratios make the engine pull 3300rpm in sixth, so they would not have been able to use these same ratios.

Is it still a c series gearbox in the new one?

Guys, speaking from eperience, the new 6 speed is acceptable. I would not be bold enough to say the 6th gear is absolutely useless, but once you are doing highway speeds you can see the benefit of it. And yes agree, it only lowers rpm a few hundred, but it makes the cruise much more relaxing. I can drive on the Hume Hwy / M5 all the way from Campbelltown to the airport in 6th, with the exception of accelerating once past the toll booths.

  4. I saw them a few times. It is just not a right shape to me. Not aggressive at all! Most time I saw either a grandpa or grandma drives it.

What will it take to convince you guys that the shape is not that bad? Chuck a set of 20's on? The aggressiveness comes from the aftermarket.

  5. We're looking at purchasing one now through fleet management.

    We've been given this quote:

    ZRE150 Ascent sedan

    - Automatic

    - Metallic Paint

    - Enhanced Safety Pack

    - Reverse Parking Sensors

    - Aftermarket alarm

    $24,600 drive away.

If you are in Sydney send me a PM and I will give you a contact who looked after me. I got a great deal on a Leven SX, and also followed by a deal for my Dad who bought the same model but in auto.
