your ride looks sweet-***** steve! =D

thanks man what happen to the pc stockies?

lol the pc stockies are still around, will put them on again soon. was just looking for a different look! you're one of the few west-siders on this forum hey?

  2. I know your post was ages ago. anyways, I had one of those fins on my rolla before, it was made of flexible plastic so it would flex around the base of the antenna, worked fine!

but I could get a proper radio signal with it on, which was why I took it off after a year.

    Sup Fellas.

Thinking of removing my stockie aerial and putting this in its place.

Has anyone removed the stock aerial in such a way that it can be put back on?

"in such a way that it can be put back on" <<< This is the key, otherwise i'm dropping the subject.

    Thanks people.

  3. Speaking about that, I "went" thru a junction seeing a white sportivo on the other side with indicator lights on his side view mirror in templestowe/doncaster last night.

    :P

wouldn't have thought it was you guni. saw your ride with stockies and didn't think twice, until you revved up in first gear from the lights lol.. and i thought it was either someone saying hi, or someone really didn't like me... lol... what happened to the gmaxs?

you added side indicators? No wonder it looked familiar .... so............ familiar ......

    Still nice ...

gmax in the shed getting some holidays atm ....

    how are you man ??

lol the gmax's must have been put thru alot, hence the holiday.. what's the updates on your ride?

  5. Hey man nice car =] used to be egene's right?? ive seen you car a few times in footscray i think anyway ive got the TRD rear sway bar i gotta say it does make a huge difference in feel cuz its much more stiff at the rear and helps alot if i could pick of the 3 i got atm which is TRD front and rear struts or TRD sway bar i'd pick the sway first thats how good it is :D

    any way see ya around

    Steve,

hey man! yea it used to be egene's, but i wonder which part of it reminds you that it's egene? just curious lol..

well i suppose the sway bar is the next thing on the list, seeing that i already got the front strut.

and probably after that powder coating my stock rims. love how it looks on yours man!

  6. wow nice looking rims. would've been interested in them as well but guess i was too late. i'm running 17X7 rims on mine as well, but your tyres look 'thicker'. guessing mine should be low profile tyres then. what are the dimensions of your tyres?

  7. yeh but it honestly wasn't my fault lol, damn freak storm last december in melbourne. to all the melbournians who drove that day with wipers on maximum... i'm pretty sure that day still wakes you up in the middle of the night all sweaty... i still have nightmares about it :(

i remember driving one night last year, it's probably the same night you're talking about. I was so worried my CAI would suck in water i drove at like 5 km/h. When i got home i put my hand in and it felt like it was drenched I was worried sick. Gave it a quick wipe and turned the engine on to let it probably 'burn' and exhale the water that went in lol. Thank goodness nothing happened!

  8. Hey guys, i bought 3 litres of castrol sytrax, and got my gearbox oil changed.

My mechanic only ended up using just UNDER two bottles,(trustworthy mechanic mind you, he knows what hes doing) he drained out the old and filled up the new as much as he could and just ended up using ALMOST and i mean ALMOST 2 bottles (maybe 10ml left)

Its true though, i did notice that it doesnt seem too well suited in the cold, but when its warm it feels alot better than before the oil change.

One question though, i noticed that lately its been hard to get into 1 (once completely stopped), and most of the time i either have to roll the car a bit to get it to go in or clutch it again. Is it normal for the sportivo boxes? or have my synchros had it from the last owner?

P.s when you guys do hit lift, what revs do u most commonly bring it to? nothing to do with gearbox problems, just out of curiousity on how you treat your car.

    Thanks guys

that's odd, i watched as my mechanic filled up my gearbox and he finished 2 bottles and was still going, probably after another quarter of a bottle more, then it started to overflow. i reckon for yours it probably wasn't fully emptied before the new oil was put in.

since i got my sportivo, it never felt comfortable going into 1st gear right away. I was told to get into 2nd or any other gear when I wanted to go into 1st or reverse, I found that it smoothened it out heaps, and I didn't get the crunch from switching into reverse anymore. apparently this was done to 'baby' older alfa romeo gearboxes that always broke (i think they still do quite regularly, and helped lengthen their life.

Give it a go, and let us know how it goes!

  9. just put in 2 and a quarter bottles of mt90 a few weeks ago. costs fairly more compared to others, but the shifting was just so smooth! highly recommended!

    How much and from where?

My 3 bottle of lightweight shockproof cost me about 30 ++ each. Can't remember now.

it cost about the same as the shockproof, about 103 all up. i bought them from burson autoparts in sunshine.

watch out if you're going to get it from the burson branch in west melbourne, there's this idiot who didn't know that there was a type of redline oil called mt90, yet didn't want to admit it, telling me there was no such thing. he was only convinced after he rang his supplier. and he tried to make me buy a 4 litre bottle of lightweight shockproof, telling me it was the mt90, because they didn't have the mt90 in stock, while what i asked for was three 1 litre bottles of mt90, cause that was all I needed. like how stupid can this guy get? i was pretty ticked off and was like: screw it. i left and rang up the sunshine branch, took a drive there 2 hrs later and all done.

  10. Today i spotted another rare member, aaronsu. Has the same looks to ur car kolohero. Probably is the one we saw during that day we meet at garage cafe.

Cruises would be good, i am not familiar with wester suburbs road. I will organise a GOR cruise sometime august if time permits me. Hopefully wont rain too.

Yeh it's definately aaronsu's stivo. I checked out the members rides section and i confirmed it :P

yeap, that's me alright! it was good meeting mario on thursday at super cheap auto, when i was looking for gearbox oil.

are we the only white stivo's in melbourne kolourhero??

  11. hey guys, i finally got my new polyurethane hangers mounted. it felt good when the car was on the hoist cause there was a lot less play compared to the floppy stock ones, though it was quite a pain putting them on.

the thing is, the rattling is back, and its hitting the left heatshield again, but this time it happens only when the engine idles at 800-900 rpm, as well as when it hits around 3600-4000 rpm, probably something to do with the resonant frequency. but anyways, what can I do to get rid of it?? it's starting to get really irritating!

  12. nah i wasn't there, my mate was there and I heard what happened to your stivo, how's it doing now?? hope all's well!

Geez what sort of running gear has the Concerto got?

That's my mate, his car is running

    - B16b head with B18c block, Buddyclub 316 degree camshaft, TODA ITB, clutch and flywheel and HEAPS .................

Roughly around 130 - 140 kw at the wheel, but his car only weight 800kg.

Things like that I can't remember all, and that's a real project car easy to kick sportivo. I wish i could build one of that ~~~~

the concerto was dynoed last week at 120kW atw, not 130-140. were you the one with the black sportivo??

Yes ...... were you there as well ? Are you the one who had your Buddy Club seat install las week at ward and while ?

  14. Hey guys,

Had my CES exhaust system put on a couple of months back, and somehow it was mounted too close to the left heatshield, resulting in rattling everytime i take a right corner. I ended up zip-tying the right rubber mount to 'pull' the whole exhaust a bit to the right, it helped a bit, but I still get the occasional rattle when i corner hard.

Is there any thing I can do to get rid of the rattling completely? Or can I send it to an exhaust shop and would they be able to help me out?

    Regards.
