I've been given a 1990 Hilux cab chassis manual, petrol engine

It arrives in about 3 weeks, got it for free, been sitting for 20 years

The door is manufactured in its original form for maximum strength, I feel cutting into it is not going to be much of a huge issue, unless you get extremely hard from the rear in which case the door would be totalled anyway, You could try and install some reinforcement around your power box.
