Similar to yourself I have the 40 series Aurion with an early build date of Oct.2006.

After using and having to replace performance halogen bulbs, I finally moved over to LED bulbs with their later plug and play design. I started off with the cheaper LED bulbs from eBay China based sellers and they did not last as long as halogen bulbs.

Finally dug deeper into my wallet and bought the STEDI brand H11 bulbs. Best upgrade ever IMO.  If STEDI bulbs are out of stock then look at this website. https://www.powerbulbs.com/au

After a bit of recent internet searching, I ended up buying these as a backup replacements. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/353908835685 They are still in transit so cannot give any further opinion.

ty for your advise 🙂 you and tony are awesome

How so ? My Aurion has stock halogens and they are excellent for night driving. I wouldn't change just because it's popular to do so.

if feel like that they're not bright enough at times (prolly just me) lol...i think ill have to do the alignment and leveling myself should i stay at 7.5m or go for 8 metres and when taping at the start should i be at 2 or 3 foot away (or up really close) from wall (when it comes to lights i kinda like to be perfect...spot on)

The Toyota Camry is a car with a long history of success. It has been the best-selling sedan in Australia for 11 straight years and was the best-selling car globally for ten consecutive years. The Camry is one of the best cars in the market, with consistently excellent customer satisfaction ratings. Its accolades are impressive, but what makes it such a great car? Toyota has spent decades refining its style, comfort, ergonomics, fuel efficiency, and reliability to create one of the most attractive and reliable sedans. The Camry's exterior is sleek and elegant, with an aerodynamic design that helps it get up to 34 mpg on the highway. It has plenty of leg room for either four or five passengers and comes equipped with a standard eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. When you're ready to turn your mind off the outside world, slide over to the backseat, where you'll find a 60/40 split-folding seat that can be reclined. If you want to sell your Camry, choose the car wanted. The Camry provides you with plenty of entertainment options as well. Enjoy your favorite music for up to eight hours straight with built-in Bluetooth capability, or plug your iPod or iPhone right into the USB port in your console without fumbling through your purse. Visit for Camry: https://www.removemycars.com.au/

not that i want to get rid of my car yet but have you thought of putting one in queensland ?

Been a while since the last update.

Nothing new really, still have a few little bits and pieces I'll get installed hopefully before the end of the year. I'm having some suspicions that my clutch may be on it's way out since I find it's slipping a bit more than I remember but, I don't notice whether it's my left foot being a bit too slow causing the issue.

Gave the car a good wash, been some time since the last after some bad weather and busy weekends but glad I squeezed it in today despite a busy morning.

Started off with bug and grim removed since there was a decent build up of rubbish.

Proceeded with one of my thicker foams and watched as all the rubbish came off.

And done. Car definitely needs a decon wash some time this year, there's plenty of little spots I've found that definitely can't be removed by a decent wash unfortunately. Hopefully I'll give it a go before the end of the year.

    Stay tuned!

awesome looking rolla squalled...are you going to put on flares ?

I've been swamped with work and other goings on in my life that all my Aurion and Colorado are have been neglected in the washing/detailing dept. I hope to get back on track real soon and be able to share a similar post to yours too

I have to say that my biggest bug bear is "bug" removal, especially now that they've been unwashed for months means more elbow grease !

Protective coatings are virtually nil at this point and both will require an intensive decon and singe stage polish prior to applying a fresh layer.

OOOHHHHH NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO DONT LET HIM WIN TONY STAY AWAY FROM THE NUT ROFL

I was wondering the same thing for my liftback, turned out there are different spoilers for compact and liftback, apparently the only one that will fit liftback is one like this on picture below or similar with brake light, I assume you'd need to drill holes in the tailgate.

    spoiler no brake light.jpg

yes...that or get a liftback with one already attached maybe from a wreckers in good condition or buy a new one all together up to you

Yikes. My OH is away so might get a mate to have a look over it. They didn't even really look at it when I took it in, so I guess we will find out more when they replace the turbo (I booked it in for a couple of weeks time). I spoke to another Toyota guy today (as our local one didn't seem interested in discussing it with me), & he said that often the actuator goes because of a problem with the turbo.  My mechanical knowledge doesn't extend much past my old trusty '76 Corona - back when most of us could at least give it a go under the bonnet.

same but my knowledge is pretty basic self taught

Today, I've been learning how to adjust my low beam lights in my 2000 Toyota Celica SX. The top one basically moves the low beam vertically right? So, what about the other adjuster bolt below? (Circled in blue) Does anyone here know what the bottom bolt does? When I fiddled around with the bottom bolt, it seemed like it was doing the same thing as the top one.IMG_2578.thumb.jpg.7df07f8e4b0786173cc1ca47ddc50e0a.jpg

1 goes up and down the other goes left and right to find out better it is best done in a dark area on a wall

With the cost of fuel rising, I don't blame you. Good choice of vehicle for those short trips and put put around town in.

Easy to park and light on maintenance too.

I find that the yellowy lights are easier on the eyes but some of those bright white ones tend to annoy me, blind the hell out of me which makes me think to carry welder goggles. They are distracting if you are the oncoming vehicle, believe me.

hid-leds-xenon bulbs will tend to do that especially on fourbies there lights are at eye level when sitting in a car

Not sure if the petrol model was available but I've seen them in diesel form. At least the body shell is available right ? The rest you can put together yourself.

I'm also a huge BTTF fan so I get it. I have many collectable pieces I've purchased over the years. The 80's were the best years !

    i miss the cartoons

on my headlights the adjusment screws are not there as viewed in the video...mine look like this

as you can see the adjustment screw is in a different spot im guessing that between us lights and au lights this comes down to manufacturing and isnt there meant to be a left and right screw and a up and down screw not be just 1 screw that does 2 positions....also the only way i can get to the adjustment screw is where that little hole is on top as shown by an arrow

It's hard to answer, but usually a ball park for car yard/dealer trade ins would be around 4k less than what a private seller would ask for a vehicle of that age and make.

Car yards don't do you any favours mate. Just remember that. All they are interested in is making as much money as possible. They will give you less for a trade in and charge you more for the replacement vehicle. Makes no sense to me.

If I had to sell, I'd sell privately, maximise your take then go find another vehicle, privately, and negotiate a good deal. You'll save thousands.

the zr6 has caught my attention...also am i able to get auto leveling headlights for my car ???

I was looking at potentially the 2016. Something like the picture below. Can't say too much of the specifics because I haven't settled on what I'll use. Let me know if you need any other information. cheers

    Hi everyone,

Just purchased a 2007 TRD Aurion 3500S, with approx 190000km on the clock. Car appears to be generally well kept and serviced. I've had a few older Camrys in the past, and always feel comforted by the Toyota reliability. I almost purchased a Renault Sport Megane 225 but the thought of reliability issues brought me back to sanity!

What should I be checking for in this Aurion to keep it running well? I've noticed on the forum about the oil sludge issues, so regular oil changes are a must. Does the supercharger feed off of engine oil or have its own dedicated supply? Thinking of a catch can from reading another thread on this forum.

What suspension mods would be a good idea for some occasional track work? Looking at Ultra Racing, they have some various braces. Which would be needed for the TRD model? What about poly bushes, are they needed, where could I get these? Ive also seen Titan coilovers for approx $1550, what are the quality of these like?

Also the centre console does not feel secure. It can shift laterally about 2cm left and right, which means it rattles around when driving. Have any other Aurions had this issue, and how have you guys fixed it?

i wonder if that will grill will fit onto my camry 🤔🤔🤔(nevermind it wont id have to change the bumper and lights)
