Find a solution before you do too much more driving. I don't have an answer sorry, but mind that this shaking severely reduces the lifespan of your tyres. Good ones for an 05 sportivo are like $250 each :P

I got some more info from the place and it turns out I got it wrong. The graph shows horsepower, not kilowatts. Thus the power at the wheels is only about 90kW or so, rather than 120. Seems to make a bit more sense though :)

He went to 5th because 4th 'cut out' or something. I've never encountered it cutting out except for when the engine was cold and you crazily go over 6200rpm - and the engine was warm before the run. I asked why he didn't go into 6th (never been to a dyno :P )and he said the power output would be pretty much the same. Shame he didn't go to 7800 though. The dyno was some place in Seaford, Victoria.

Have a look at the graph picture to see the massive effect the lift has (at around 170km/h)!

I took my Corolla Sportivo 2005 (all stock) on a dyno last month.

Manual says the power output is 141kW @ 7800 (at the flywheel of the 1.8L VVTL-i)

It got 120kW @ 7250 in 5th gear at the wheels. The bloke testing it didn't go to 7800, even though I had said to. I'm yet to receive the papers with the graphs, but I'm not sure I'll ever get them. The power is great for such a small engine without using any modifications (intake, turbo, whatever). No idea what the torque is, sorry.

The speed got to 200km/h in 5th, so in 6th I have no doubt it'd reach 225-230. Note this has no wind resistance, so on a track it'd only get to 200 or so, depending on wind speed/direction etc.

A high quality video was recorded too, but I haven't got that yet (will soon).

The new model corrolas 2008+ don't have a pause like that when you try to play an MP3 CD - they even remember whereabouts in the track you were and it plays from there. I've often wondered about trying an upgrade for my 2004 car, but it's 6CD so you can always just split tracks up and spread them over normal CDs or something :P

Could be interesting, don't know how the little corolla will fare against the big cars though :(

Only reason I don't have a PS3 is because I don't have an HDTV to support it. Also, there aren't many awesome games out - but Sony says there are over a hundred coming this year. If you own a PSP there is even greater reason to get a PS3; you can link up the two and use Remote Play and all this other crazy techno stuff that'd be kinda useful.

I've upset a few pretty boys in Cooper S' in my Sportivo. I tell you they didn't like it one little bit either....

Ahh, I don't find too many of these but it's certainly a fun go against the '05 sportivo. Lay down the light bets campeon it'll be a good match.

I've got this problem too - the lever just won't go into second if I'm above 7200RPM. I've just been avoiding it since by not going up that far (i.e. I'll shift at 6700 instead). It'll work occasionally, but I'm not that dedicated in thrashing the car.
