hey! yeh sorry took me a sec to figure out why someone was flashing me :P but obviously from teh look of that corolla ;) I knew why.

either way, that wouldnt be a definitive comparison, as a lot of factors couldve contributed to the 0.2 second difference, eg. ambient temp, tyre temp, response time, etc.

I know it's not a definte comparison, but its something that is noticeable given that over the course of the runs in which I compared the two modes, the air temperature/track temperature only varied by 1 degree and the humidity/pressure remained within a similar range. The comparative runs (3 of each) were launched at the same RPM, etc so that minimises the variables.

Like I said, it's not completely accurate, but until there is better evidence, then this is what has been found so far.

i wonder whether there would be a noticeable difference on the dyno between the two modes? because obviously one of them is restricting/releasing power somewhere

Hard to hold the Aurion in a gear when in 'D' mode if you were to dyno it.

how do they dyno automatic gears? If you leave it in S mode with gear 6 selected wouldnt the gear shifting still go to 1 to 6?

While I don't condone street racing I feel that ever since I got my Aurion I have been looking for fights. Having said that............

Yesterday morning I was driving to work half asleep slow as a grandpa when I lined up next to this guy in a sp23 at red lights who had what looked like his little brother in the passenger side. He was revving at a constant pace then the light went green and he took off pretty quick, by the time I knew what he was doing he was a car length and a bit ahead and instincts told me to plant it (I was in Auto) so I did. Needless to say he was soon sucking my fumes.

I could hear his engine and muffler over mine (stock) and music. Sounded like he was giving it hell.

I've been though this before. I'm not changing my rims, cause I go through rubber like there's no tomorrow.

I'd like to be different you know :P... instead of trying to look like everyone else. The stock rims are more unique now.

If I was really wanting to change rims, I'd probably go for Buddy Club P1's or Drifteks. Someone's got to represent the sporty side of the Aurion, and it doesn't seem like anyone else is going to do it.

+1 They actually look quite nice on the non-sportivo models

Finally got my wheels & tyres delivered from Tempe Tyres, been delayed for a week and all the waiting aaarrrggghh, just glad when the delivery guy help me with loading it into my car. Within minutes i am on my way to the workshop to get it bolted on.. After about 20mins or so of waiting, finally got it on.. Still considering whether i should lower it.. but looking at the car i think i probably should..

daym! Wheels make the car a whole lot better! Nice on bro... hopefully I will be your "blue equivalent" :P
