I just got some Kappa Rims for my car, when I had them fitted, they put this spray on the rims which made them all shiny, and when you put water on them, it all beaded and fell off.
I was wondering does anyone know what spray that was?
Cheers.

any update on this?
-
yay! got my kappa's today and my trd centre cap :D
How much did you pay for your TRD Centre Caps?
Post some pics up too!!!
EDIT:
Also what are you doing with your stock rims?

Hello,
Im looking at getting the Eclipse AVN726EA
and I know that on most GPS devices you can customize the boot screen.
I was wanting to load it up with the Toyota Logo.
Does anyone have a image file they can upload? or know a place where I can download it from?
Cheers.

how much did those set you back?
i'd snap your stock wheels if you were in brisbane :(
Hey rockuman_ex, I am happy to courier them.
I have no idea on pricing however. But I am more then happy to do it for you.
I have created a thread here for the stock wheels with some more pics up close.
http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...showtopic=23392
Feel free to PM me, im going to call some courier companys (Fedex, Toll etc tomorrow) to get a rough guide on courier costs.
Cheers.

How much would I need to lower it by? I don't want it being too low to the ground. Any particular setup people recommend for the zre? Will it void my warranty?
What are peoples thoughts how much I should sell my stock rims for?
-
Hey guys,
Some of the guys on here already know, but today I upgraded to the 17" Kappa alloys.
Here are some before and after shots:
I also need to sell the stock wheels that I got, if anyone is interested, The tyres have done just under 30K. They have always been checked with tyre pressure (every 2 - 3 weeks).
According to my mate, who is a mechanic, they have about 75% tread left on them.
Ill open another thread in the selling part of the forum to get an idea on how to price and ship the stock rims...

hey guys,
After that I am definitely getting my Kappas done tomorrow through a mate of mine.
I am also going to get the ball rolling on the GPS Setup.
I am looking at going here:
http://www.cobracaralarms.com.au/new-products
The Eclipse AVN726EA with iPod Cable and Reversing Camera.
Im tossing up wether to take advantage of their 12 month interest free offer they have available too.
-
Im looking at getting the 17" Kappa wheels on my ZRE, then I want to get the Eclipse GPS Setup with the iPod and Reversing Camera.
Im looking at around $1800 for the Kappa's with wheels.
Then about $2200 for the GPS.
I Really want this stuff on my car.
But i feel really guilty spending that much money on my car!
I have my mind telling me get it, then I have my mates telling me its a waste...
What to do?

looking on the UK Forum,
You can now order a arm rest for the Auris over there (the ZRE Corolla for us)
http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...=67473&st=0
people have posted the part number for it, how much do you think it will be to get to Australia?

Hi David,
Is the unit plug and play? any cutting of wires? or a harness is still needed. I understand a fitting kit will be required but that's the easy part.
Vinh
Hi Vinh,
The unit is NOT plug and play.
The harness is unique and will require slicing into the relevant wires (vehicle side) such a power, illumination and speaker wires.
The fitting kit required are a set of L & R "ears" that we sell too.
They look like this http://www.sampsonsltd.com/img/p9a.jpg (the side plates are on the bottom) and are fitted to the side of the AVN726EA (L+R)
The Toyota factory audio is a unique 200mm wide, where as the ISO 2 DIN standard is 180mm wide
If you have any other questions relating to the AVN726EA, please do not hesitate to contact me
Regards,
David.
I was wondering, that since the Levin SX (Conquest and Levin ZR too) have the upgraded Audio setup with 2 Tweeters (on the top of the 2 front doors) and 4 speakers, do all these work with the AVN726EA?
Hi Vinh,
Regarding the factory speakers and tweeters, the AVN726EA has a built in 4 x 50W MOSFET amplifier so it can sufficiently power all the speakers in the car.
The AVN726EA produces far more power than the factory radio,in addition the AVN726EA also has a 3 band EQ with customsetting so can further personalise your sound setting in your vehicle
Regards,
David.
Im abit confused? if it has x4 50W outputs, how can it also power the 2 extra tweeters that come standard in your Levin SX? the same rule also applies to the Conquest and Levin ZR which has the same audio setup.
All up the corolla needs to power 6 speakers (4 proper speakers and 2 tweeters). how does that work?
have you changed the speakers in your car? or have you kept the stock ones?

any other tyres people recommend? im after grip and a quiet ride on my car.
-
I have also made a post in the Corolla Forum, but i thought I would try here too.
I am looking at getting myself a set of Kappa alloys of my ZRE.
I see no need in keeping my stock 16" Rims that came with my Levin.
I got the car in April 2008, the tyres are still in good condition, keep constant check of the tyre pressure twice a month.
There are a few very minor scuffs on the rim up close, but nothing major.
I can post pics later I suppose.
Before i put it onto the Buy/Sell section of the forum, I was wondering what price I should be aiming to sell these for?
Cheers.

JVN11L and BG Pete, which tyres were you talking about? The Yokahama Advan's?
-
I was looking at getting the Kappa Alloys for the ZRE Corolla.
I was wondering what type of Tyre's would be the best all rounder for the 17" Kappa's?
I was originally looking at some Dunlop SP Sport Max tyres when I was looking last year. But im not 100% sure now.
I wasent after anything designed for racing, im driving around on your typical Melbourne Roads. As long as they are safe and grippy!
What are peoples thoughts?
Cheers.
-
Sweet! michaelweare where did you get your unit installed?
Are you in Melbourne?
Ive been quoted around the Low 2K Mark to get it installed (ranging from $2200 - $2400)

Just spoke to my local Toyota dealer (Nunawadding Toyota) in Melbourne.
Spoke to a guy in Pre Deliveries. He informed me that the little vent is indeed blank with nothing in there. It is left over from a bluetooth setup you can get in Japan.
When they fit the 'Genuine' Toyota GPS Unit, they dont put the MIC in there normally apparently. But he doesn't see any reason why you couldn't put it in there.
He also recommended I look at the Eclipse Units.
The only thing concerning me now, would be how long the MIC Cable is, and if it will reach!!! are the extension leads if need be?
