It normally turns the DVD off when you put up the hand brake for safety reason, also to obey the law.
But I know in Toyota, even you put the hand brake down, the movie will play unitil certain speed, I think its around 5km/h, because this also happen in my Grande(Camry), but I have got my installer to solve this out, they have installed a device to solve this out.
