The Vanguard is what you are thinking of. I wouldn't recommend trying to add in the 3rd row seats, even though they would probably fit, they wouldn't be ADR compliant.

New Highlander owner here. Hi All :D

Took delivery of our old-shape 2010 KX-R 2WD just yesterday.

Including :

Metallic Paint

7 Seat option

Genuine Toyota rear parking sensors

Full tank of petrol

Cost us $38,800 drive away. Picked up the rear rubber protection mat plus 4 floor mats for $100 each aswell.

Declined the extended warranty, paint protection, rim/tyre insurance etc.

I might look at doing the built in GPS upgrade like so many others on here have done.

Also, has anyone got any suggestions as to replacing the standard key and remote with a combination remote key model? I hate having to carry so many bulky keys in my pocket :(

Hi, 3 months ago i purchased a 2009 Dual Cab Hilux with 17800kms on the clock thinking that it would be a step forward in the way of fuel economy and practicality (previous car was a VY SS Ute). But i am quite peeved at the fact that i cant get decent fuel economy out of it. I have a steel tray and a bullbar much the same as any other hilux getting around and now at 27600kms it still wont perform or return economy. One tank of diesel will get me about 500-550kms sitting on about 110-115kph which in my books is not excessive, i could handle this if it had some sort of power. Any suggestions?? Dont really like going into dealers as they just seem to tell you what you want to hear.

Also has anyone heard of a 50%hp and a 40% torque program upgrade for the D4D engine that toyota were meant to be doing?

Hi Maccat, do you have the diesel or petrol variant? 4x4 or 4x4? And what type of roads are you driving on? 550km is about right for the petrol on mixed type of roads.

Never heard of this power boost program you are talking about but I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you..

yea sounds like that hilux was abused before you bought it...

Family First Leader Senator Steve Fielding will introduce new laws to make repairing the family car cheaper. The Choice of Repairer Bill 2010 would make it a legal requirement for the giant car makers to hand over the technical and diagnostic tools necessary for servicing all new vehicles. Senator Fielding said ordinary Australians were being ripped off with higher prices from dealer repairers because it was becoming increasingly difficult to get their cars serviced at less expensive, independent repairers, due to the lack of access to vital technical information. Stuart Charity from the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) said if the legislation passed it could save thousands of jobs.

i'd have to disagree with you there. I don't see any hints of IS-F and I'm glad for that.

I agree with the person who said the Hyundai logo should be changed, they need to re-position their brand and that would be a good start.

Even though that car looks damn nice from the outside, and may even drive pretty well, just having that H logo staring at me in the face from the steering wheel would put me off every time.

I recommend getting one that has dual zone with the GPS. If you don't you will get tired of using the GPS without being able to play music/radio.

yea the whole lot, exterior, interior and tint. Done by Truseal, except the tint was done by someone else, forget whom.

Conquest has gone a bit cheaper from being the same as the SX. The ZR has gone a bit cheaper too I think..

thanks guys. just went to a dealer and had a quick word for some very prelim info. 2010 manufactured rollas wont be here till March, and apparently for ascent auto we are looking at 27-28k, without any negotiations, trade-ins etc. so guess we gonna stay with the edge. keep the responses comin though, really appreciate it! cheers.

Reasons for buying: Well I'm not buying it, it's a subsidised lease entitlement through work. Having owned a 2008 Corolla Levin ZR since April 2008, I wanted a step up. The Corolla has done about 37,000k and has been a very reliable car, loaded with great features but I'm tired of manual and the lack of power. So I'll be getting my facelifted ZR6 scheduled to be produced in early december :D Can't wait. I've taken my boss' TRD Aurion for a few weekends and it was really a great drive.
