  1. Hi Guys,

I have only noticed that first thing in the mornings (first start up of the car) once the car goes in motion

I hear a squeeking noise which is coming from the front driver's side wheel - right hand side.

Im pretty sure it is wheel related as the noise sounds like a rotating wheel sound.

Brake noise I doubt but I could be wrong.

This squeeking noise lasts no more than 30-60 seconds and the squeek noise then disappears.

Im having difficulty trying to pinpoint the problem.

As mentioned this only occurs first thing in the morning on the car's initial start up.

If anyone has any info or feedback it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    :D

    gday mate,

maybe a badly made wheel bearing or some minor rotor problem. should be a warranty job so take it back to a toyota dealer.

    all the best,

    lauschie

I have no idea on this one, but on this topic of weird noises, has anyone else had problems with excessive wind noise, to the point where the car actually whistles. The dealer recognises the issue, but has no idea! Though maybe the brakes but appranetly the brakes can't be adjusted.

Finally I am not alone, I've this problem since my 1200km (now close to 5000km), around 1200km I went to Nauwanding Toyota - Service & Repair center and metion the problem to the Manager Geroge, as I cannot identify where doesn the noise came from, all I know is somewhere at the back, and the way it happen is exactuly as u guys experienced, left it over night, cold, very obvious noise as the car is slow, goes away as it run faster, I mention that all to him, even I got the sound record on my phone, but that old guy told me he coundn't heard anything.

When I came back for my 5k service, I mention that to other staff, they did the run test first day in the morning(i left it overnight), as what normally drama does, they can't heard anything, but this time this guy had a better ear than the manager(manager never hear what other said, ignore staff request and customer complain), he can hear the wired noise from my record, however as they can hear it in the road test, they can do nothing. :)

He ask to if that happen again, book a time with him, they will perform the road test again and try to identify what it is.

BUT, if they find out what is it and if that doesn't make any demage to the car, they will do nothing. (Maybe the wired noise comes a package, I cannot agree with him). As I can present any soild evidence, nothing i can do.:angry:

Maybe we can gather together and go to Toyota service center.

  2. Don't you ever let any dealer to wash your car.

About one and half month ago i've got my 1000km service done, and of course they didn't fix all the fault that I found, but anyway I will go back to them for those problems.

But when I wash my car yesterday, guess what did I find out, 3 large swril marks all over my bonnet, and many more on the roof. I never wash my car myself and this is the first time expect the once done by toyota @ 1000km service.

My sportivo is white so those swrils are hard to identify under sun, but more obvious under fluorescent tube.

Nunawading Toyota have just done it again.:angry::angry:

  3. I would presume it's the sump plug washer...

Usually you don't change the oil on a 1000km service tho    ...

Did you request to have the oil changed???

And how much was the part worth???

I don't think i've got oil changed, that's the only oil thing i've seen, ar onemore, the oil filter is changed.

  4. I had two fogged headlights after washing the car for the first time.

One was totally fogged the other was only a little fogged in one of the corners.

After approx 1 day the condensation was gone and has not occurred since.

However I am constantly checking them after each wash or driving in the rain.

    So far so good.

But as others have mentioned here if you have a re-occurring problem you should definately take the car in and have the light(s) replaced. It will will help tremendously if they are fogged at the time.

Let us know how you go.

This happened exactly the same with my headlight, after rain or wash, I went back to my dealer and they had it changed, but still the same, same spot, a concer of the headlight plus part of the light reflective area (this doesn't happen b4)

    :( :( :( :(

Does any one know what is "GSKT OIL DRAIN"? this appear on my 1000km service report~

    Thanks

  5. I work at Toyota and we usually fit the shorter ones to all Corollas...

But me being the fussy Corolla enthusiast I am, I will go to the spare parts counter and get the longer ones all the time hehehe...

I do take pride in my work, and always use the products listed for that model...

It makes no difference, just filters more oil at a time...

I love the way you work?

Can i get you to service my car? :D :D :D

  6. hi, just wondering does it ever happen to anyone?

I picked up my car on 4th June with one master key only, the saleperson told me because your car is under super faster delivery, so two other keys left behind, still in warehouse(I assume some where in Victoria), he told me those keys will hand over to me once get here(the dealer), also I haven't got the correct car manual for my sportivo(I compared with my friend's one, same model diffferent), I was given corolla manual. Since then I never heard from Nunawading Toyota.

Does anyone ever experience this before?

    What should/can I do? :(

  7. I had a Hilux in at work today with the same problems...

Replaced O/S Headlight, both front park light assy's and both rear tail light seals all under warranty...

If it happens again, take it to you local service dealership and get it replaced under warranty...

But the problem seems disapper after that, but then i spot there is some what mark( those dry mark), hard to spot on, but you could see if get a bit closer.

    Do they still replace that?

  8. After just having read the article I can say I dodnt really see eye to eye with the writer of this piece.

Seems hes comparing apples with oranges.

listing the retail price of a Sportivo and then going on to list a list of "quite used" alternatives for 2/3 of the price doesnt seem to make a convincing story.

I dont need to tell anyone here that used cars carry so much more risk than buying a brand spanker. I cant see how the writer can compare a swag of mid to late 90's performance car with a brand new vehicle. Sure some of the vehicles mentioned would beat a sportivo down the 1/4 but its not all about that. Yes, the used vehicles are cheaper but these cars are mostly over 5 years old and 100,000km's.

It doesnt really seem like a fair conparison to me.

Relevant for people looking to buy on that budget but then again they wouldnt be looking for a Sportivo in the first place would they?

    Yesyesyes Support!

just like friend of mine bought a ext-demo car from holden (only done 18,000km), he got a big problem with the exhaust, the car would stall at the traffic light. In the first 4 months after the bought the car he had to visit holden again for the same problem and by friend was so pizz about this. After that he launch a complain to the customer affair Association and forward those letter to holden, finally he got a new engine.

When the time he bought this car, he could choose drop around 2k for no warranty or the normal price a continue warranty.

In short buying a second may give a better buget in term on $ in a short period, when comes to repair, it time to pay back. Lucky my friend got warranty, otherwise he would go bankrupt. B)

  9. Hi Overloade,

I've had my 2005 Sportivo for about 10 days now and noticed the exact same thing the day after I picked it up. There was condensation inside both headlights which went away after the first day or so. Since then I havent noticed any condensation although I am keeping an eye out for it.

If this continues to be a problem then this would mean that the headlight assembly is not properly sealed and should be replaced under warranty.

My last car (Hyundai Accent) has this problem twice from brand new, both times Hyundai replaced the whole light without hesitation. I would assume that Toyota should do the same.

Keep and eye and an ear out for other issues that other members on here have experienced. My car has about 700km on it and last night for the first time I heard a scraping sound during engine braking that other users in pre facelift model sportivos have encountered.

So just be weary of everything, listen to the car while you drive it, every problem you have should be raised with Toyota before or at the 1000km service.

thx all ur info, of course including the "Second floor".

I also heard a strange noise from the rear break (at least i though where it come from), this would happen when i try to break hard @ speed around 75km+ <104km, also the finish is not good in the front bumper, the glue is not well finish, near the fog lamp on the passenger side. Also a light starch on the driver side headlight.

I think just make sure if the condensation happen again, take a picture of it, just like what i did. At least got something on hand when telling the toyota ppl about the problem(s) B)

  10. Hi everyone, finally I got my car from Toyota after a long long waiting period.

But I found out there are some water drop indside the front head light ( the plastic, I hope u know what i am talkign) second day, then I talked to one of the manager in Nunamading Toyota (where I bought this car), he told me this could happen when it is new. A little trick which the sales told him when he bought a BMW with the same thing happend to him, turn the head light on and this would fix the problem, seal the gap of head light.

If this could fix the problem, I still wonder will they change the head light for me? Because I found the is some water mark inside the light already after the water dry out.

Then I rang the salesperson, he told me clam warranty.

So what should i do then? If that doens't happen again, but the mark stay inside. :( :( .

How quick toyota will get the warranty done for this instance, I though just change the head light.

    Thanks for your listening.

There are some minor problems with the car as well, but I think I can only report to them when doing the first 1000km service. :o :o

  11. I bought mine on April for $28388 drive away (Naunwading Toyota), with 4xfloor mat, nothing else BUT WITH ONE MONTH WAITING, I still waiting for my car. +$125 sportivo pedals fitted, free 10,000km service (cause the delay)

Did i buy it far too expensive? :( :(

I really want to buy from somewhere else, but I may lose my$500 deposit.

  12. Which dealer did your friend buy from Pippy?

Sounds like they got an exceptional deal.

    I thought I got a good discount.

Mines $28,000 driveaway, brand new just off the ship on Monday.

For that price i'm getting tints, sportivo pedals, genuine mats, dash mat, hatch loading mat.

Very nice Price. Which dealer?

  13. Look it's not a bad deal $150 considering on how much weight you reduce and how the car is going to be soo much quicker. And after all, when you take someone for a spin, they are gona be amazed by your foot work and they will constantly check out your pedal timing, so make sure they are shine. A bit of grease should be fine, and hopefully it will fix all those clutch problems for you guys as well.

Im just in a smartass mood......it's been a long week, I do apologize.

    :D :D :D That's real funny.

But i really want to get this done~

Hope u like it as well. :P

  14. i got mine yesterday, was around $100. fit them yourself seriously its so easy, not even worth paying the $20 fitting

$100 bucks....u bought it seperatly or together with ur car? Which dealer do u mind if u can tell me?

<_< Why Nunawadming Toyota told me different story...

OK, just rang Nunawadming Toyota one min. ago, the kit is $140, wonder why the salesperson told it cost over $300 before

Anyway if anyone could tell where i can get the pedals for $100 that will be great~

    Thanks in advance :D
