  1. Hi all,

Recently both my bulbs went out for low beams, within days of each other. I've checked my fuses and they all seem ok, high beams and parking lights all work still as well. So I've went and gotten some new bulbs but I am having alot of trouble removing my old ones. Do I need to remove my headlight? I've managed to get those little black covers off the back of the headlight to expose the bulb/plug but I can't seem to pull it out.

Anyone got any tips on how to install new bulbs into an 05 Stivo? Any help would be much appreciated.

PS: I've been skimming through threads but can't seem to find any mention of how to install bulbs

    how much r those per-corner ?:P

$200 per corner when i got it. Sam has contacts with donellan's in box hill and can get tyres on skyline club discount price.

    Cheap as sssssss .................

The Hankook K104 Optimo (stock size) I have are ......... Dealer put them on to pass RWC. So i decided to put them to the test

This morning, I took a turn at 80 on dry road (Dandenong Road turning into Westall Road in Mulgrave, VIC), 4th gear and as I was almost out of it (the turn), drop to 3rd and accelerate, hit LIFT in 5 seconds and then traffic lights so I jam the brakes. ABS works (i think). The tyres were screeching allllllllllllllllllll the way during the turn. Backside was wobbling a little but was still OK. Stuck to my left lane as the middle and right was full of cars so no room for error. Was good. But a little loud. None the less, I can't wait to get them off my car and put some better stuff in although Ken san will surely dis-agree with me. Car is still a stocky. No mods or bars yet :P

Going at 80 you should have started in 3rd, and are you talking about the princess hwy/westall rd turn-off? left lane on that turn off isn't really a smart place to be doing 80, I've seen cars go straight into the light pole at the end of it.

  3. I wouldn't put that nulon stuff in my gearbox mate. Prolly do more harm than good. Heard tooo many horror stories about that crap.

TRD option suspension is a little bit lower in height but by no means anything like adjustable shocks and springs. give you a lowered look but the ride is still a tad bit soft.

Opps, too late. Already put it in. I must say shifting at high revs have never been smoother. Not notchy at all. Low revs still a little crappy but i'll get over it ..... soon. 125ml X 2 bottles with Redline ShockProof LightWeight does it. Will change the gearbox oil in less than 30,000 KM anyways. We'll see how they fair.

Oh SB, if only we can get access to some of those Roil magic stuff, I won't be in this situation using the crap stuffff ..... :P Any chance of a GB for that ????

As for the TRD Suspension, was it $525 for the shocks and springs combo or just the springs? Sorry, just needed to get it right.

525 for springs and 850ish for shocks

  4. Nah my car isn't up on one wheel :P its more like there is too much power being delivered to the wheels and its breaking traction every now and then. Its like stepping on the pedal in the wet while taking off. Could be due to the soft compound in the tyres.

The D2s were going for $1200 or so during the group buy.

    Fark........... Cheap as ssssssssssssssss .............

I got quoted about 480 installed for a set of Pedders lower springs. Will still give me about an inch and half from my tyres to the wheel arch. What i like.

The TRD springs were $525 and lower by about 3cm. The suspension is probably going to be put on hold again because the CES group buy is just too good to pass up if we get the interest. I can see more axle tramping once it all goes on

    525 for springs..... hmmm.........

    What tyres are you on?

  6. on the topic of suspension, Lane Toyota in Glen Waverley can source the TRD springs/shocks combo for around $1350

So is that better for comfort but still have handling or the Teins/Cusco does the job better ??

The way I see it if it was made by TRD it was made for a reason, my guess is it won't be in the league of a set of coils but it will make that occasional high speed corner much more enjoyable then the stock setup.

I was originally going for cusco coilovers but since I don't have the time to take the car down to the track, not do I drive it hard much these days I was thinking the TRD setup would be much better for the everyday application. Although I hope it keeps the car on the road because axle tramp hitting lift in first is not fun :(

That being said though I remember in one of the older threads that the best setup for the echo sportivo back in the day was the TRD produced springs/shocks which out performed numerous other setups.

What is "Axle Tramp" Tekno? What is it doing now that its not suppose to be doing? So have you installed those TRD shocks/springs combo? Are they adjustable? Comfortable?

Axle tramp is when the wheels skip across the road I think when the suspension is too soft to keep the wheels on the ground. Not like wheelspin where the car is still firmly on the road. Back when I had the stock tyres hitting lift in 1st was fine. Although my tyres might just be a bit flat so I might pump it up a bit and see how that goes.

Haven't installed the TRD set but I was looking into suspension as the stockies are feeling a bit soft these days. There was a D2 coil group buy ages ago which I regret not being part of. I don't think the $1300 set is adjustable but on the TRD website there is a fully adjustable set which would be well over 2k. When I called Lane they told me I either had to change the offset of my wheels or change the tyre size. I reckon they were bullcrapping but who knows.

  8. I'm down for the entire package if the CAI fits the 05 stivo, I had a TRD CAI which ended up with the rubber elbow snapping at the throttle body (luckily noticed it before it got the whole way through).

Hey Steve how goes the intake? any troubles?

lmao nope its better then ever i changed the pipe to a flexi one or somthing and it doesnt crack =D LIFTaholic now

Did you get it from that purple pig place? my car needs to many things atm, hardcore sticky shifts on all gears now... Used to only be 1-2 and after getting new tyres the handling went downhill, damn soft compound! Can't even hit lift in first without it axel tramping like a b*tch

  9. Car wash meet isn't a bad idea either :whistling:

Im usually at the cnr heatherton/springvale rd carwash every friday nights (caught up with evoke and dorifto there last week).

By all means come join me! If there are more people interested, we can make a more central location to accommodate everyone for a group wash :)

omg I live really close to that carwash, like 1 minute drive close >.< howcome no one told me this happens!
