  1. Solder? You must never have heard of Toyota pins ;) Makes headunit installation very easy and completely reversible should you decide to go back to factory.

Exactly what I was going to use... but you would know that. Been using them on all radio installs since it makes it easy as plug and play. And like you said, requires no cutting of the original harness.

Excellent, I figured you'd have a crimper set on you and it makes things so, so much easier. Doesn't work on BMW's though :P

you wont need to buy extra cables unless ur hookin it up to an amp. all u'll need to do is just solder the unit wires onto the stock ones.. i.e. power, earth, left and right speaker.. etc etc. just read the instructions. but yeah. you wont need extra cables if its a simple head unit swap.

Soldering is reversible lol. snip snip, then solder again lol.

Well, to reverse mine it takes about ten seconds, depending on the amount of 'leccy tape you use. Problem with cut and taping is you can quite easily leave a strand exposed (or it can poke through the tape), which could lead to a short.

Yeah true, just gotta be liberal with the electrical tape lol. But yeah, I think older models didnt have the clips. As I said before, mine's a ae102R 99, think it was one of the ones they started making in 96.. not sure.

  2. my girlfriend and i saw this the other night and amongst the fact that i did have a chuckle over the whole diesel versus petrol thing i had another good laugh when my girlfriend said " that focus looks so **** id rather run out of fuel in the corolla" lol she got a pat on the head and a good girl from me

yes, she is a good girl. lol

hmm, maybe in the new toyota's... lol. i cant remember mine having the clips. its a made 99 AE102R rolla conquest.. 96 model tho, i'm pretty sure.

  5. Just as the topic title states..

I have a Toyota Corolla Seca Conquest AE102R hatch. Will AE100 headights from eBay fit? They look exactly the same and have all the same anchor points. They are custom lights I really want to get, but the seller says "They will only fit AE100 models only" and I think to myself.. bull****, because they look exactly the same. If you could share your ideas that would be great, thanks!

    Regards,

  6. Hummmm... thanks for the input guys. It seems there is none.. everywhere I've looked... And yes.. the centre panel does fade.. I was thinking of going down to the wreckers and getting a newish looking one.. but still, it would be nice to have those tail-lights.. if anyone comes across any, please let me know =)

Anyways.. thanks guys. Keep throwing in your suggestions and where some might be, links would be great =) I'm going to start a new topic about headlights for my car.. I think they should be easier to come by as I think all of the corollas from 94 to 99 have the same headlights.

  7. Being the conquest your car should have the coloured tailgate garnish which in my opinion would look like poo if you had clear lights...

Check out twincam.org, there's a guy in South Africa that specialises in clear lights that might be able to help you out...

Search the twincam forum and you will find him, don't have a link sorry...

Hmm.. oki doke. Just to clarify, do you mean the reflectors either side of the number plate? I've attached a pic>

Edit: By the way... If anyone else knows where to get them PLEEEEEEASE tell me cos i wanna get some soon =)

No particular reason, just wanting to know if i'm alone. :(

    Cheers.

I have a green Corolla Seca Conquest AE102R... Started making them in '96 but its a '99 build...

I'll take some pics this weekend or something and post them up.

  9. Yeah.. So you reckon the wreckers have custom lights? ... I've been checkin on ebay and that and found a few... but I think they're for the AE102R sedan... I have a hatch. lol. Here's a link to one of many that i've been looking at>

If anyone has a solid understand whether there is a difference between the sedan and hatch lights, please let me know. As I have the money, but I don't wanna buy something that isn't gonna fit. Thanks guys.
