  1. TRD is a great car for the money, very cruisy, reasonable insurance, decent on fuel if you drive it right and very rare on the road

If your after a performance car thats great for everyday the TRD is great

however if i was looking at buying another car around 45 grand id probably look at an R34 GTR but i couldnt live with it everyday (id worry about it to much :-P)

Or as mentioned an MK5 Golf Gti is an awesome car for the money, GTI + APR tune =animal :)

  2. i dont think you can get an SL in white...

    only black and silver..

the S comes in red, white, black and silver...

    i could be wrong though..

silver, white, black and tungsten (dark silver/grey) but just can't find the tungsten or white....

originally the SL's only came in silver and black

but this year they changed the colours a bit, a few new ones out (not sure if they ever made any though)

never seen a TRD in any of the new colours or an SL in anything but silver and black

an Inferno 3500S would be nice :)

  3. HI there,

just wondering if the TRD aurion onwers have had similar issues to the rest of us aurion owners. Dash rattle and the original pull to the left spring to mind as issues nearly all aurion owners have had. Is there and build complaints etc in regards to the TRD? I would like to know if theres anything i should look for...

    thanks, Nate

Dash rattle yes but thats all ive had

the only pull to the left ive had would be due to torque :P

  4. My TRD came with Sportivo Mats

I have wanted to change them but i don't think its worth the money, ultimately they are just there so the carpet doesnt get dirty so they are a disposable item

If anyone does here of TRD mats on sale though id be interested :)

  5. Ive had a few brands of coilovers over the years

K sports, Zeals, D2's and a few friends have had Teins & buddyclubs

Honestly the k sports are quite good for the money, they arent the same as D2's im sure, they D2's werent much chop

Zeals were the best for ride quality but at the same time the worst for noise, i think i had a particulary bad set, i hated them

    they had extremely noisy tops

the K sports are reasonably quiet, a little firm but they are adjustable and can go very low

Teins super sports are good value for money

Buddyclubs are similar to tein ss's , good quality & reasonable pricing but i believe will allow you to go lower

id go for the N+ racing dampers :)

  6. 2 cars ago i had a Nissan Maxima

about 3 weeks out of warranty i was driving along in D

and the car made a clunk noise and started free revving alot

to do 60km/h it was on about 6,000 rpm

had an ordeal with that, couldnt get warranty cover and had massive issues with nissan

ended up replacing it with a 2nd hand gearbox out of a write off,

Nissan wanted $7500 for a new gear box, it entirely shat itself, had a hole in the transmission casing

and it had a rather easy life prior to this

Sucks its happened with yours :(

mine took 8 weeks for nissan just to say "no its not covered under warranty and it'll be xxxx to fix"

12 weeks in total the car was gone :(

hopefullys its not as majors , but a week seems unlikely :(

  7. I assume the dropping of TRD was bound to happen whether Toyota internationally made a loss or not with how many sales they've had

its probably more coincidental then a direct cause, but ultimately it does make sense that if things arent going as good as they have been to drop things that arent making you money

However I did see this on the news and im sure Toyota Australia are still very viable

I believe the Hilux was the best selling car in Australia last month, The Corolla always does well

and the Camry, kluger, aurion etc are always up there.

Im surprised as to where the loss has come from?

Exchange rates and the american market would have been the greatest cause i can imagine

  8. ps: the ultra racing strut wasn't completely a bolt straight on strut...it FITS but u need to put a bit of effort to get it in.

but regardless well money paid for!

a light tap with a mallet and it fits quite easily

i was worried it didnt fit when i installed mine, tapped it once and it went on :)

  9. :) the aurion boot is pretty impressive, love that its flat to and not up and down like some others

Much better shape then my previous car (accord euro)

folding seats are always handy though for longer items

i know on most bmws its about a $900 option to have rear seats that fold down, as they claim they have to put in additional bracing to account for the bracing removed when folding seats are used

anything to get more money out of you :P

  10. Nice ride :)

Just a word of warning, might seem silly but it happened to me

If the valve caps are off ebay do not over tighten them

I had ebay valve caps on my last car, looked the same but mugen branding

I tightened them pretty hard as i caught kids trying to steal them one day, in time the caps started to corrode and basically become locked on

took alot of effort to get them off, so just be careful to check them every now and then to make sure they still screw on and off :D

  11. Do your braking pre turn

    Accelerate out once straight

Ultimately wheels struggle to accelerate/brake/turn at the same time

you want to roll through a corner

brake first, roll through, accelerate out in front wheel drive

ive driven quite a few powerful front wheel drive cars, You've just got to learn the limit, its easy to exceed it, but generally is a lot easier to correct then in a rear wheel drive where youve come in to hard

Stability control can be pretty impressive, never tested the aurions but in my previous car it helped alot under brakes to get round a corner where id find a car without would of just gone straight
