  1. There are a few options to evade this entrapment, and let Bridgestone choke on the stock pile of this rare rubber.

The costly one – change wheels (to 18 (Lexus) or 20 inch) and tyres for a more popular and cheaper size.

Cheaper but bit complicated – change tyre size to 255/50/19 or 255/55/19 – each within legal limit (2.5%) and much more popular thus cheaper! The second will offer better fuel economy and faster acceleration as a bonus!

    Complication!

For constant 4wd cars – all wheels must be the same size to maintain the same rolling diameter as not to cause problems with differential – so all tyres must be changed at the same time if changing from a different size. (large one off cost!)

    Any experiences or suggestions?

    Dan

    Thanks for this,

I am in the process at the moment at looking at 2 new front tyres for my 2004 Kluger. I will now do some research re replacing all four tyres

  2. Can anyone help

I need to know how to reset the GPS as it will not read the CD.

Does anyone know how to reset this :g:

  3. Well might be getting somewhere with the sat nav hack.

After much playing have discoved that if you hold the info button on and turn the headlights on and off you get into the programming screens.

seems to have a screen to set speeds for blacking out features when moving , is set at 0km cant work out how to change it. Also has plenty of other info that will take time to work out. Please have a go at your units and see what you come up with. I will keep trying

All we need is a detailed service manual for this unit with the steps to follow and i think it would be very simple, anyone have any ideas how to get one.

Found a video on utube about this denso unit and it will do lots of things that Toyota Aust haven't activated in our units, it is absurd they have chosen to not use some of the features(everyone should send an email to Toyota complaining)

    GOOD FIND,

Going out to play, thats such an irritating feature the speed safety cut out it sometimes more dangerous as you dont wont to move in traffic to enter a street name, sound like we may able to do it on the run now :yahoo: working on getting the work shop manual but its locked on the main Toyota PCs NOT A DVD OR Disc so I have been told ....Bugger...

I have read heaps of posts for the previous sat nav in toyotas and they had a code along similar lines, has taken lots of reading. I new it would not have been changed to much, so just kept trying buttons.

Now need to work out what sequence of buttons you use to change settings when you are in these screens. There must be someone that can work it out, maybe I need to post on some US sites how to access programming screens , plenty of tech heads over there. I havent seen any posts that they have accessed program screens over there yet.

    Keep trying!!!!!!!!!

Do you know how to override the GPS when it comes up "Please Insert Correct map Disc" I have a 2004 Kluger ver10 and want to upgrade to 12 or 14 but its not ready the disc

  4. Upgrade GPS from version 10 to version 14

I have a 2004 Toyota Kluger and have been quote $900+ to upgrade the GPS software. Is there a cheaper option as I can purchase a new DOUBLE DIN 7" CAR DVD GPS NAVIGATION BLUETOOTH TV IPOD for $500 with the latest software.
