Hi guys, just abou to install new HD head unit. got to the Part where i need to remove the AC controls from the existing head unit. I have removed the bracket screws but the unit doesn't pull away from the AC unit. Is it just clips ? Which way do i pull, out or up. Is there a set of screws i am missing ? The whole dash is disassembled at the moment so anyone who can give me quicj advice is very much appreciated

its on the same road (just a few doors down) from Di Bella Coffee... i think its Abbotsford Rd in bowen hills...

i forget the guys name (could have been Jason), but they're all pretty helpful... i believe the pirelli's i got were on sale though..

i havent had the need to buy 18" tyres in a few years, so not sure on the 'current' prices...

best idea is to shop around, A LOT... that way you know if they are quoting you high or not...

ive had good experiences with a place in bowen hills if you want to go there...

$500 does seem a bit pricey for 18s though...

i got some really good rubber for my 20s for $500...

I wouldn't mind checking out the place in Bowen hills.

I did actually go to a couple of places in Mt Gravatt and they both quoted pretty much the same price. Even the cheap brands were in the $300s.

Makes me wonder how the other guys on here got Bridgestones and Michelins for just over $200!

yes im running GT radials on the front at the moment they are a very good tyre quiet, they also have a better profile than the michelin energy tyres, which i have found to be a bit noisy. ther is a price difference too. GT's $180 compared to the michelin energy $250.

I just came back from my local tyre shop (Mt Gravatt, Brisbane) and they quoted me approx:

$520 for Michelin Energy

$416 for Bridgestone Adrenalin

$360 for some Goodyear tyre

I have 225/45R18. I realise this size isn't too common but should they really be that expensive? Most guys on this forum have been saying $200 - $250 for decent tyres so you can imagine my shock when I was told $500!!

Are they ripping me off?

I received the unit and I am enjoying it. I will give a more comprehensive review after the weekend.

I would really like to make some custom skins and after some tinkering I have figured out how to get into Windows Explorer but I cant find any image files that could possibly be skins.

To get into Windows Explorer (Desktop) you need to edit a text file on the SD card called Navi.ini

The first line will read PATH=\igo8 australia pna version with r15 map\igo8\igo8.exe

You want it to say PATH=\..\windows\explorer.exe

I better receive mine today. I ordered it 3 days before you!

Good work in figuring out how to get to the desktop. I was actually going to try and write my own apps. Havn't really done any programming for WinCE so it should be interesting.

One other issue, it irritates me how the music stops playing while in GPS mode when voice directions are said. Is it possible to change that? I want the music to keep playing and the voice to play over the music....

I think I read somewhere that there is a checkbox you have to tick in one of the menus.

Did you receive your unit yet?

I paid for mine yesterday around 12pm but I am still yet to get any communication from them.. I was hoping to get the unit by Thursday or Friday.

I paid for mine via ebay last Thursday, around 9am.

The only communication I have been receiving from them are responses to some of my questions. I remember reading somewhere that it can take them up to 4 business days to ship it.

I dont think they have shipped mine yet because I'm guessing they would have told me if they did.

I'm new to this forum. Thought I might join in on the fun :)

Attached is a pic of my ZR6...

I've the new grill on but quite a few ppl have said that it doesn't look much better than the standard, if not worse. I was thinking of chroming the plastic border and leaving the black mesh as it it. What do you guys reckon?

My other mods include the wheels and the chrome door handles. Interior is all standard, I was going to get the SatNav/DVD system in a few weeks when I can afford them!
