Im kind of new around here, I couldnt see a board to put this in so Im sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Hi all, Im fairly new to toyotas and Im seriously considering buying this toyota century in the next few days. http://www.tinyurl.com.au/x.php?1l51

It looks like a bit of a junker but its only 2.5k so i figure if I sink another 5k into it ill get an awesome and unique car.

Anyone here had any experience with Centurys? are they hard to restore?

Peace everyone and have a nice day. Thanks.

Ughhh... what a pig of a motor vehicle. If you buy this you'll pull your hair out, and have lots of fun trying to source parts. Just buy something that TMCA (or AMI Toyota in those days) brought into Australia. You'll be able to pick up a nice MX70 or MX83 Cressida for around that sort of $$$, maybe a few $$$ more, which btw are FAR superior motor vehicles.

Funny thing about the Century, TMC to this day still sell the same vehicle in Japan.

When you say pig do you mean handling wise or reliability wise? I wouldnt be too worried about parts as im not intending on putting all originals back in, mostly aftermarket bits as it already has monroe gas shocks, Also probably if possible wait until the 5v goes and drop in a 1uz-fe.
