tyres noise

hey everyone,

this noise started a month ago, can not really tell that is from the front or rear. Sounds like eriiiiiik, and my friend told me it might be something against the tyres. But i double checked, nothing against them. The other guy told me that, coz my rear tyres are not really good tyres, when they started to wear out, they made that noise.

Last thing i wanna ask, since i lowered my car a lot, sometimes my middle part of exhaust hit the ground when i passed the hump fastly. so is that possible the exhaust making noise after they got hit (I dont think there is any damage on exhaust)?

Does anyone know what the problem is?

thanks everyone's helping.

considering you mentioned you car is lowered "heaps", that may be the cause of your noisy shocks too.

when does the noise occur? if its over bumps, could be the strut bottoming out, or camber being too negative and touching the strut itself. if theyve been on a while, your struts will have dust all over them. check for any disturbances around where the tyre would potentially meet.

  • 3 weeks later...

just found out this problem a couple weeks ago. i did not do the wheel alignment since i changed the springs, and caused the tread of front tyres did not balance. The right hand side of tyre worn a bit more than left hand side. After i changed new front tyres, the noise has disappeared.
