Hello I am just new to this forum but there is some interesting topics covered, Keep it up people.

We have a 2009 KXR and we are very happy with it so far, but I have been told the windows with the privacy tint on them from the factory have no U.V rating and the car still gets very hot I have been thinking of getting some tinting film over them to protect the kids and also darken the front windows to match the back. Has anyone heard of this and did you bother tinting the windows as I was just going to get the front windows darkened up to match the rest of the car .

The other question was do we need to fit a trans cooler for regular towing i know toyota reccomend more regular servicing but all my other cars have had big coolers on them, has anyone put one on?

Quite to the contary,

I was told that the privacy glass has UV protection.

Respond from a dealer in WA.

And here, what I have found:

So no need to tint

I found this out after having signing with dealer to have car tinted. Wa dealer told me not much uv protection, so i signed up for tintirng, then read on here the stats on uv rating. I rang up toyota australia, they said different figures to those quoted on this site (but similair) the front windscreen is the higest uv rating at 99%. I called the dealer, and he was supprised, apparently toyota rep during training told them otherwise. He chased it up, and the tinting I had done does make a difference ie all windows now 99% uv.
