18R-G Questions

Hey guys, sorry new member here so I hope its in the right area :)

I have a '81 RA60 Celica with a 21r engine in it. Rather then hotting this up I got a cheap 18R-GU engine to put in. So far have sorted things like engine mounts etc, but the one brick wall I haven't had much luck getting around so far is the Sump & Oil Pickup. The Engine I have is a mid sump and the car its going into requires a front sump.

I heard that the 18R-GEU engines (Fuel injected version) came with a front sump. First is this true? And second, where in the world can I find parts for one?!

Being in New Zealand I have rung all the toyota dealers, wreckers etc, and not a single one of them have anything with a 18R-GEU in it. Closest I have found is an imported 18R-GEU but they wouldn't split any parts off it and $2000 was more then I was willing to pay for a sump!

Any help would be great!

Hey buddy.

Im not sure but I think the 18-rc single overhead cam model had both sumps, mid and front, for application into celicas and hilux's.

Try that out, if so got ship loads in aus.

Yes, the ones the Hilux are Rear sump and the ones into the Celica are front sump ... unfortunately I can't find any in NZ! If anyone can find me or point me to somewhere to find one it'd be great
