Help with 4 runner engine

Hi I have had my 1990 Toyota 4 runner for about 3 years now... and i am thinking about taking out the 2.4lt 22r engine and putting in a diesel .. can anyone tell me what diesel engine i should use with so many to chose from lol any help on this would be great ....

3L (Aussie 2.8 N/A diesel)

5L (Aussie 3.0 N/A diesel)

those 2 are relatively basic electronics wise and should be a simple fit (surfs had 2LT / 2LTE fitted which are similar)

If your more adventurous, try a 5LE or 1KZTE(3l Turbo Diesel from early Prado...)

or whack a v8 in it...

DEPENDING IF SIMPLICTY FIX OUT IN THE BUSH NO ELECTRONICS TOO WORRY ABOUT I WOULD GO 5L 3.0LT BUT IF POWER AND TORQUE AND ECOMONY I WOULD GO 1KZTE 3.0LT TURBO BOTH WOULD BE AS RELIABLE AS EACH OTHER BUT IM NOT SURE WHAT THE DIFFERENT GEAR RATIOS FOR 22R AGAINST THE DIESELS WOULD BE AND FINAL DRIVE ETC WHEATHER THEY WOULD MATCH OR DIESELS HAVE DIFFERENT RATIOS TO PETROLS.
