Read DVD Ratling Noise in Grande

Hi All,

Anyone ever experienced a rattling noise from the rear DVD player in grande,i have had this problem for last 8 months and reported to the dealer and even after several attempt they could not fix the actual issue. I took my vehicle 7 times already to the dealer and they changed few parts as directed by Toyota representative, but the problem still persists. In our last conversation dealer mentioned that they will not be getting any more assistance from Toyota in this particular case as they have already done what they can do with the vehicle and the noise which is left behind is absolute normal in all their grande model.(They said roof liners are flexible and the DVD will rattle if it goes over a bump as the DVS are not fixed rigidly in any of their cars.-I am totally surprised with this answer from a representative of a reputed car manufacturer like Toyota). In my view they did not fix the DVD rigidly to the roof as I can hear the noise when i press the rear corners of the fixing panel. This makes a cracking noise and I cannot feel it from the front corners as they are fixed rigidly. So some kind of unusual fixing for this DVD panel to the roof. Unbalanced fixing to the roof causes the DVD panel to produce a rattle noise each time goes past bumps or on a rough road.

Could someone advise me whether it’s normal to all Grande?

Cheers

DVD players are mounted on a floating platform inside the case, even your home theatre one.
This is to reduce hopping from vibration. I would imagine that this is why the one in your vehicle is not rigidly fixed as your car would be subject to constant vibration whilst driving.
