Toyota Kluger MCU28 V6 fuel filter replacement detailed procedure

Hello all,

I have followed this forrum for two months without registering. I found it is quite helpful. I decided to join it today.

Something about me and my Kluger

I bought this 2005 Kluger Grande 2 months ago with 92k on the Odo. It is my first SUV and first Toyota. Before this I had the VY commodore. I'm a fan of DIY from around home to car. I do the service on all my car including chaning the suspension parts, CV joints, disc rotor... Have not done any timing belt or water pump but will give it a crack if needed. I do work on car because I love getting my hand dirty. If you ask me to select between doing a job which costs $200 and paying sb $200 I will still do it if I can. I have some mates who are very helpful. I just did the new front rotors last week, using dba and Semra pads, changed the brake fluid including flushing and bleeding... Looking good now.

OK now I will talk about this fuel filter

I did a search for weeks and found almost zero information about the fuel filter on my car. With Odo closes to 100k I decide to change it. The previous owner actually opened it but realised it was too hard so he did not change it

Somebody will try to say changing this fuel filter will bring zero benefit. I doubt it. I work in process industry and power and I understand that filter and it's material has life time limit. And most importantly, when we change the filter we will protect the fuel pump which is more expensive.

Please find my procedure attached. I hope it helps your DIY.

P/s: If you are in Brissie and want to borrow the tool I'll be happy to lend it to you
