Hill Start Assist

Hi,

I just became owner of a 2WD GXL Kluger 2015 and very happy about it. Just that it seems there is no Hill Start Assist on the car (or I do not know how to use it properly). I followed instruction on google search by pressing deeper and holding the brake for 3 sec to activate it, but there is neither any light on (for HSA) nor beep notification sound. So it seems this is a silent operation? I do feel the car keeps holding a little while when I release the brake pedal and enough time for me to accelerate to get over the uphill path. So is it ok or something wrong with my car?

I had no idea there was such a thing as hill start assist in an automatic car but left foot on the brake and gently apply pressure on the accelerator has always been the way I start off on a hill. Even with a car that has a hand brake.

I think hill start assist might be a gimmick mate...

I had no idea the hill start assist even existed until I noticed VSC light coming on with sound upon heavier braking while stationary. Activates when brake is pressed firmly.
