  1. which hole are you speaking about?
  2. Ive been trying to look online for a pic of a nut and bolt that can clamp the cable back together. Do you have any pic of that kind of clamp? Or know what it is called?
  3. Sorry about the multiple replies. I didnt know it got posted that many times. Is there any specific thing or wire that will let me clamp the two separated cables back together? Could someone also help me advising me on how to get the hatch back onto my car? Its kind of hard. You cant just put a nut and bolt on it because there is basically a call. I was thinking of maybe a C nut? I posted 2 pics of some bolts that I think would work. Has anyone else had this problem? Do you guys have better ideas or alternative options to what I am thinking? Here the pics of bolts I am thinking of using to reattach the hutch the car Thats a hex or V bolt... Thats a U Bolt Has anyone tried to trick with one of these 2 type?
  4. Hi guys: The trunk cable on my 1991 Camry snapped today. I still have the cable and the hatch (which the cable is supposed to be connected to) but I need to get the cable back on to it. I have taken a pic of my hatch (without the cable on it) so you guys can have a better understanding of what I am trying to say. What I want to know is, do I have to put a new cable or can I re-connect the old one back, because there is a lot of slack on it. Also, I need to re-attach the hatch back onto my car, which isnt as simple as it sounds. I need to take off some parts of the trunk in order to get the bolt in there. Can someone please help me with this? If I havent been as clear as I think, please reply and let me know if you need more clarification. Thanks for your help in advance.

  7. I got it fixed for $250 by a mobile mechanic. It was a timing belt issues
  8. Thanks for the help. I have a mechanic coming by in a few hours. I have a feeling its the timing belt or the fuel pump. Ill keep you guys posted on what he says is the problem. Just a side note, do you guys know how much it would cost (approx) to fix a fuel pump and timing belt? (its hard being a student)
  9. Ya..I just got that number from a google search. Im going to try giving them a call tomorrow and see how soon they can check it out
  10. I got a mechanic to come to my place and check out the car (since I cant drive it). He said that its the spark plugs that are causing the car not to turn on. My question is, since I was driving when the car turned off does it seem right to be the spark plugs? Arent spark plugs used to start a car and while the car is running the spark plugs arent really being used? No! Spark plugs are used to create the spark to burn the fuel so it goes off very very often. But how does it all die at the same time ??!? I dont know how it all died at the same time. It doesnt make sense. It seems to be the fuel pump. The mechanic that came over gave me the feeling that he doesnt know what hes talking about. I told him that the car was driving when it turned off, I dont know how he came to the conclusion of spark plugs. He said for sure its not the alternator or battery. I think Im going to get another machanic to come check it out tomorrow, but its just so hard to get a mobile mechanic in the Gold Coast (Australia)

  12. How much does a timing belt cost? I heard theyre pretty cheap for a 1991 Camry 4 cyl, but I heard the labour could be costly
  13. Its cranks but it seems no gas is going to the engine. So I thnk its the fuel pump. It makes noise when you try starting it. Its the exact same noise as when your car runs out of gas and you try starting it are those expensive for 91 Camrys?
  14. :( That would be horrible. The last I check, a MAF sensor for a 1991 camry is like $400. Please tell me that isnt true
  15. I dont know when the timing belt was changed because I bought the car in Sept 2007 and I didnt ask the guy when it was changed the reason why I dont think its a timing belt issue is becase when a timing belt breaks it makes a pretty loud noise, which I didnt hear. Also when I pushed the car home, I didnt see anything on the ground (as a timing belt). Just a question, if the alternator was dead, does that mean that battery would be drained also?
