thankyou for the help guys. The black "module" or "junction box" I talked about earlier has only one set of wires coming out which go exclusively to the trailer plug. It seems to me the module is either not working or is not being activated or whatever from elsewhere.

I fitted the genuine tow bar and wiring harness to my 2006 RAV. Unfortunately there is a fault somewhere. There are no "signals" coming out of the trailer base when I put on the car brake, park, flickers etc. I traced the problem and found that there is power (obviously when the brake, park or flickers are activated) at the small black "junction box" which is part of the new harness and is mounted inside the cavity at the left hand very rear of the vehicle. But there is no power coming out of it. Maybe it is faulty? I also notice there is a blue wire coming out of the harness just there and wonder if I have "missed" connecting it to something or is it just a "spare". Any body got any ideas to help. We were supposed to be towing our trailer on holiday today. Whoopsie!!!!!
