As a current owner of a 2007 Prado diesel I was concerned to see a friends prado the same age with a few more kms on the clock seize up a few weeks ago. The story he is getting from the dealer is that there was a carbon buildup in the oil pump pickup which restricted the oil flow and the engine locked up. Has any one heard of a similar case. As a long term toyota owner of hj47, hj75 and hzj75 all of which have done over 400,000 km without any major engine trouble I am somewhat perplexed as to this engine failure at very low kms. Interested to here if this is unusual. Cheers Laurence.
