  2. I have a Hilux 4x4 SR5 2000 model and i am having problems with the radio loosing its memory while cranking the engine. I have to enter the security code each time the vehicle has started. This is a diesel engine and I thought that maybe the battery connections may be faulty causing voltage drop to the radio. I have renewed all battery connections. Could someone assist with this problem. Regards Darryl

has the head unit been taken out or has it been rewired somehow?

if it had been, then could be the cause of live +ive wire been connected to the ignition wire...

    hope this helps

    andrew,

No, all is original, nothing has been removed.

    hmz..

have you checked the radio ignition fuse?

other then that i think there is something wrong with the stock head unit that you have.

    andrew,

  4. i bought a sub and amp this last week and i didnt want 2 change the deck so i got that rca line out from jaycar like lift yo said but when i connect the 4 wire to the speakers i lose the back speakers i dont get how use do it or do u still run power to the back speakers and connect the rca line out also when u do it that way u need to find a remote wire so the amp and sub work http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...mp;SUBCATID=619

thats the 1 i got. wat am i doin wrong

Did you cut off your rear speaker wires and joined it through to the converter? if you did, then rewire it back to the rear speakers and just 'tap' in the line converter with the rear speakers. you dont need to disconnect the rear speakers or any speakers whatsoever. the conveter will still work even if you just 'tap' in it.

as for the remote wire, the only place u can get ignition is behind the headunit or the ignition barrel.

my advice, find the ignition wire in the back of the head unit and connect it through there..

i did all my wiring behind the head unit, so all i needed to do after that was run the rca and remote wire to where the amp is located.

lets not forget about the +ive wire... lol

one more thing, make sure that you have got the right speaker wires. otherwise there will be no sound.

heres a link with the wiring diagrams behind your head unit

    Andrew,

  5. Sorry to the original poster for totally going off topic, this is actually a decent debate, it just got unnecessarily heated with aggression.

A stock AUS s15 is actually quite crap to be honest, for what it has under the bonnet. Stock for stock I can picture an s2k smacking it around on the track easily. As for a straight line, im not so sure but I wouldnt be surprised if the s15 lost again. The thing that people need to realise is that the 15 comes out of the factory crippled. You CANNOT keep these cars stock as its boring as. But then you go to the shops and you buy it a turbo back exhaust for like 500 - 900 or something and BOOM! the real 15 reveals itself. Have you guys seen the stock exhaust on this thing? its the most pathetic thing on the planet. Seriously 1.6 NA echos or wuteva have a bigger exhaust. Me and my mate andrew aka 'lift yo' were looking at one up close on my old s15 and were laughing our asses off.

Once that exhaust goes on the 15 awakens and will start belting that s2k, the s2k will still out handle that body rolling 15, but with the car's new power output it will either b really close or the 15 will prob win. As for a drag? the 15 will prob pick up the s2k by the neck and throw it through the wall with one hand. To be fair the s2k can also have 900 bux to spend on a few mods but dollar for dollar the turbo will win. Newayz I just though i'd ad my 2 cents on 15s even though its obvious such cars are totally different.

As for the dude wanting the ep3? good taste, those cars are sexy but damn expensive.

Sorry again to the original poster :D

    - Will

ok bro Get out... ahah the topic is vvti!!

but yeah s15 is a disgrace in stock form. its terrible. the tiny exhuast is just ridiculous.. no justice whatsoever..

NA is BEST.. VTEC VTEC VTEC.. :D

  6. wow guys... its not fair comparing an S2000 to a S15. they are both in 2 different classes. you simply cannot compare NA to Turbo.

i love the s15 and the s2000. i was very close to getting an s15 spec R when i sold my is200. however i will always go with the s2000.

it comes down to preference and what u want out of a 2 door car. convertable? high revving engine? then s2000. torque? power? then s15.

take ur pick. now lets try n keep this on the topic...

  7. Ive had Yokohama c.drive on my Lexus is200. ive never had a problem with it. very quiet and grippy.

same goes for bridgstone turanza (not sure which type) for my honda civic sports. they were quiet, although i did find the turanza wearing out abit fast... then again it could just be the way i was driving the thing... :D :D

personally i would go for the bridgstone Potenza's RE050..

    Andrew.

  8. Usually with Toyota stackers you have to hold the CD Eject button until the light glows green then insert the CD, does it have an eject button near the CD slot?

    Vinh

yeah ive tried that, the face opens when i press the 'load' button then the orange led on both sides of where u put the cd in lights up... im sitting there waiting for it to turn green so i can load the cd in, but it never turns green.

oh, the map however loads properly no troubles. its just the 4 disc mp3..

    Andrew,

  9. Hi there,

Ive recently got on hold of a Toyota Sat Nav model number PZQ60-00200. Everything works fine, like the radio, Sat nav and Audio, but the 4 disc mp3 won't load. It wont eject or allow the Cds to load whatsoever..

I dont hear any sounds like the sound of cd's being loaded or anything.

    What do you guys think?

Where will i be able to get this fixed? checked out?

    Im located in Western Syd.

Any advice will be much appreciated..

  14. parents hired the 2009 corolla from the airport so i thought id test drive it out, being the case that it was in the drive way at home :D

    It was horrible!! :(

1.Couldnt see over the dash because the nose was soo sloped. (no im not short for anyone that was curious)

2.The dash is was too long (what a waste of space that could have been put to better use)

    3. got these little tiny small windows just infront of the side mirrors....looks kinda gay.

4.Exterior looks fine except there is no boot so if your sitting in the back and somone crashes into you...your definalty dead.

    5. interior looks cheap.

I dont know about the more expensive models of the 2009 corolla but the ascent looks very flimsy. I recon the older corolla's are better designed than the 2009.

Wow.. you seem llike you really hate it!

Family had a Conquest and Levin ZR, it did not seem that bad as you said.. it just feels like a 'different' car thats all... lol!!
