  1. Link http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...=59808&vf=2 (oh... apparently this is old news....) Sorry!
  2. Thanks for that!!! Did you capture that animation yourself? Mmm... I will have to get mine fixed then. Luckily I'm having the 1000km service today. Will probably need a wheel alignment as the steering keeps going to the left.... Thanks again DJKOR, can always rely on an excellent response from you :)
  3. oh ic ic.... thanks for confirming! =)
  4. I added the rear parking sensors to my SX6, which is fitted through the dealer. Question: Is the genuine toyota rear sensor (for the sx6) the same as the ones found in the zr6? (i.e. it is displayed on the digital display on the odometer?) Mine is displayed on a little digital display on top of the rear view mirror.... ao have I been ripped off (i.e. pay for genuine toyota parts but got after-market parts instead?)
  5. Hi Just want to check with those with power seats (I've got a SX6), does the seat till up and down on both ends of the seat? The reason I ask is that when I tilt the seat up, only the back of the seat tilts up, the front of the seat doesn't move at all... is that normal?? I'm taking the car to service tomorrow... if there is a problem, I would want them to fix it then. Cheers
  6. not sure, I thought the weight of the two are the same.... both have a kerb weight of 1615kg. However, you might be right with the transmission only being 5 speed. I'm not sure of the weight of the 2008 Accord Coupe in the US, it can do 0-100 in about 6.6 seconds with a 6 speed manual. Expectation is that the sedan can do 7.5sec with a 5 speed auto. http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/guides_an...umentid=6119166
  7. I'm certainly racking up the k's (about 60-70k's per day), so in no time would I be able to enjoy that POWER : My trips so far have been mainly stop-start traffic to and from work on the freeway, and the trip computer is saying about 12.2L per 100k's, which seems like the average from the other thread you referred to. Once I start driving more "spiritedly"... well... lucky the price of petrol is coming down LOL
  8. haha... can't wait to test it out... maybe after the first 1000k and service hehe.... mmm... going by my calculations, that would be in about 2 weeks... I will start the count down :P
  9. Thanks mate. For the past 2 days, it might be the way I drive personally or maybe because the Aurion has such a strong engine, I haven't felt the need to take it to redline yet cos I always go past the speed limit before I get there..... so a question out of curiosity... my previous car had VTEC, and you get a sudden jolt of acceleration when it hits a particular range.... is it the same for the Aurion?
  10. Don't get completely mad. The Aurion pushes out 204kW when run on premium unleaded, so there's something to stand by. None at all (taken by me). LOL. My car had quite a story behind it (see 'My Aurion is now on the road' and 'DJKOR's Aurion' for more info). I didn't buy it new. It did live several months though in sunny Cairns where the temperature wouldn't fluctuate too much meaning the engine didn't have a lot of hot/cold cycles. I'm sure that would have been a plus in some form. I would say that it had a good mix of gentle driving by older people, and the occasional thrashing by someone who was lucky enough to hire it. Anyways, it is stated by Toyota that there is no specific break-in period. The engine doesn't require it. As a general guideline, just run the car easy for the first 1000-5000km. hehe... being "mad" maybe an over exaggeration :P Ah ic ic... just not sure whether I should hit the 6000rpm during the "break-in" period. The manual did say that for the first 1000k, should drive gently.... not exactly sure what that means.... does that mean accerlate gently but not hitting the high rpms? There are so many different views out there.
  11. haha.... I haven't driven the Accord yet, but have been driving the Aurion for 2 days now... it is certainly a huge step up from my previous car! But it just makes me mad how the figures for Honda's engine just beats the Aurion engine in both power and torque by 2-3 points. However, I do notice that the Aurion engine gets to maximum torque earlier. So it will be a close match between the two in a standing start! DJKOR, have you taken specific steps to break-in your engine?
  12. mmm... the 2008 Honda Accord V6 won the large car of the year.... which comes with 202kw (as compared to 200kw for the Aurion) and 339nm (336nm for Aurion).... grr..... and possibly faster 0-100km time as well.... grrrrr.......
  13. Woo hoo.... getting my white SX6 on Tuesday. The dealers must be having a hard time selling their cars and overstocked... cos I ordered only last week and it's ready to be picked up on Tuesday... can't wait!
  14. Thanks guys! I think I will get a white one now. Btw, the Aurion Touring edition is really good value, the difference between that and the SX6 is approximately $8K... and you could possibly argue that you are getting less in the SX6....
  15. droolz.... that's it.... white Aurion it is!!! In the mean time, I will just use that pic as my wallpaper :P
