  1. Link http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...=59808&vf=2 (oh... apparently this is old news....) Sorry!
  2. Thanks for that!!! Did you capture that animation yourself? Mmm... I will have to get mine fixed then. Luckily I'm having the 1000km service today. Will probably need a wheel alignment as the steering keeps going to the left.... Thanks again DJKOR, can always rely on an excellent response from you :)
  3. I added the rear parking sensors to my SX6, which is fitted through the dealer. Question: Is the genuine toyota rear sensor (for the sx6) the same as the ones found in the zr6? (i.e. it is displayed on the digital display on the odometer?) Mine is displayed on a little digital display on top of the rear view mirror.... ao have I been ripped off (i.e. pay for genuine toyota parts but got after-market parts instead?)
  4. Hi Just want to check with those with power seats (I've got a SX6), does the seat till up and down on both ends of the seat? The reason I ask is that when I tilt the seat up, only the back of the seat tilts up, the front of the seat doesn't move at all... is that normal?? I'm taking the car to service tomorrow... if there is a problem, I would want them to fix it then. Cheers
  5. not sure, I thought the weight of the two are the same.... both have a kerb weight of 1615kg. However, you might be right with the transmission only being 5 speed. I'm not sure of the weight of the 2008 Accord Coupe in the US, it can do 0-100 in about 6.6 seconds with a 6 speed manual. Expectation is that the sedan can do 7.5sec with a 5 speed auto. http://en.autos.sympatico.msn.ca/guides_an...umentid=6119166
  6. I'm certainly racking up the k's (about 60-70k's per day), so in no time would I be able to enjoy that POWER : My trips so far have been mainly stop-start traffic to and from work on the freeway, and the trip computer is saying about 12.2L per 100k's, which seems like the average from the other thread you referred to. Once I start driving more "spiritedly"... well... lucky the price of petrol is coming down LOL
  7. haha... can't wait to test it out... maybe after the first 1000k and service hehe.... mmm... going by my calculations, that would be in about 2 weeks... I will start the count down :P
  8. Thanks mate. For the past 2 days, it might be the way I drive personally or maybe because the Aurion has such a strong engine, I haven't felt the need to take it to redline yet cos I always go past the speed limit before I get there..... so a question out of curiosity... my previous car had VTEC, and you get a sudden jolt of acceleration when it hits a particular range.... is it the same for the Aurion?
  9. Don't get completely mad. The Aurion pushes out 204kW when run on premium unleaded, so there's something to stand by. None at all (taken by me). LOL. My car had quite a story behind it (see 'My Aurion is now on the road' and 'DJKOR's Aurion' for more info). I didn't buy it new. It did live several months though in sunny Cairns where the temperature wouldn't fluctuate too much meaning the engine didn't have a lot of hot/cold cycles. I'm sure that would have been a plus in some form. I would say that it had a good mix of gentle driving by older people, and the occasional thrashing by someone who was lucky enough to hire it. Anyways, it is stated by Toyota that there is no specific break-in period. The engine doesn't require it. As a general guideline, just run the car easy for the first 1000-5000km. hehe... being "mad" maybe an over exaggeration :P Ah ic ic... just not sure whether I should hit the 6000rpm during the "break-in" period. The manual did say that for the first 1000k, should drive gently.... not exactly sure what that means.... does that mean accerlate gently but not hitting the high rpms? There are so many different views out there.
  10. haha.... I haven't driven the Accord yet, but have been driving the Aurion for 2 days now... it is certainly a huge step up from my previous car! But it just makes me mad how the figures for Honda's engine just beats the Aurion engine in both power and torque by 2-3 points. However, I do notice that the Aurion engine gets to maximum torque earlier. So it will be a close match between the two in a standing start! DJKOR, have you taken specific steps to break-in your engine?
  11. mmm... the 2008 Honda Accord V6 won the large car of the year.... which comes with 202kw (as compared to 200kw for the Aurion) and 339nm (336nm for Aurion).... grr..... and possibly faster 0-100km time as well.... grrrrr.......
  12. Woo hoo.... getting my white SX6 on Tuesday. The dealers must be having a hard time selling their cars and overstocked... cos I ordered only last week and it's ready to be picked up on Tuesday... can't wait!
  13. Thanks guys! I think I will get a white one now. Btw, the Aurion Touring edition is really good value, the difference between that and the SX6 is approximately $8K... and you could possibly argue that you are getting less in the SX6....
  14. droolz.... that's it.... white Aurion it is!!! In the mean time, I will just use that pic as my wallpaper :P
  15. Thanks! Very nice pic mate! And I think adding the moonroof just further gives it its sporty feel. Btw, are those stock 17inch wheels? I am thinking whether its worth it to spend the extra dole in getting the 18" Kappas... as it's a company car and I only get to keep it for 3 years before I swap... mmm... decisions decisions :( Might tint the windows as well sometime down the track :P
  16. Very interesting article I found on the internet just then.... and seems like white in the winner!!1 Link: http://www.aol.co.nz/lifestyle/story/The-S...2031/index.html The Surprising No. 1 Car Color Is... 04-07-2008 - 24:32 ...white. And that's big news. Silver has been the undisputed color champion of the automotive world for seven years--but not anymore. That's the word from the DuPont 2007 Global Automotive Color Popularity Report, which determined that white was the top color choice for vehicles. Your car color reveals your personality! Check this fun list. Does it match up for you and your car? Fun facts to know and tell: --19 percent of all cars manufactured in 2007 were white, followed by silver with 16 percent. --Among luxury cars, black and white were tied at 22 percent, while 20 percent were silver. --In the intermediate car market, blue was the No. 1 color with 15 percent. This was the only category in which blue was in the double digits. --Beige and brown accounted for only 5 percent of overall car sales. --Red was the preferred color by sports car drivers. --In the United States and Canada, the choice is black and white, so to speak. White/white pearl, silver and black/black effect were in a virtual tie for first, with white/white pearl narrowly taking the top spot. --White beat silver in Japan, and was the decisive leader in Mexico. Yellow? Orange? There are some eye-popping trends in new car colors. Would you drive a car that looked like this? DuPont has tracked color statistics for more than 55 years and reports converging trends in color preference. This year, DuPont sees white/white pearl as a trend-shifting color and anticipates the new black metallic and other color effects will show an increase in popularity over time. Red also continues to gain ground and is ensuring a more vividly colored outlook in nearly all segments. Fully 95 percent of women will notice their date's car. The No. 1 thing they pay attention to is... "Our customers are looking at niche colors and effects, including matte finishes and warm neutrals with effect," said Karen Surcina, color marketing and technology manager, DuPont Automotive Systems. "The rise in popularity of white/white pearl and the long reign of silver suggest that we can expect a more dramatic shift in the top color choice."
  17. I think I am going to get a white one afterall.... I really like the contrast of white against black, and the red LEDs.... nicee...... JZA, do you have to wax your car often? Picture looks good! :) .. yea thats what made me get white! I've only owned the car since the end of sept / start of oct so i've only waxed it once haha. I'd be interesting what car colour you'll actually get Congratulations on your recent purchase then! I guess I really need to see the car in person, to determine the finish quality, because I find that gaps between panels shows up more clearly in a white than in other colours.... Btw, do you have any other pictures of your car? And are your headlights stock or a mod? Wondering what the stock headlights look in the dark.... And will definitely let you guys know of my final choice!!
  18. The result is very interesting at the moment, with Inferno red leading the poll... but when you actually read the replies, it's quite different :P
  19. I think I am going to get a white one afterall.... I really like the contrast of white against black, and the red LEDs.... nicee...... JZA, do you have to wax your car often? Picture looks good!
  20. Ahh.... I see... so that's the secret!! Mate... the hard work is certainly worth it... looks great!!! I thought I was just imagining things haha~ Wow, those black cars look gorgeous too with the clay! But knowing that I'm too lazy to wash and wax every week... I will probably stick with the silver then hehe~ So what about the white?!?!?! Anyone voting for the white?!?!?! :P
  21. Thanks mate. So it's down to silver or white then. Black just looks sooooo sexy when it's nice and shiny.... oh well... As for the dash rattle noise... are they in ALL Aurions? I will look out for it when mine arrives... Hopefully I can get our fleet managers to fix that if it does happen....
  22. Thank you very much for your input! I've always like the white look (ever since seeing an Integra type R in white), but given that it's not metallic paint, not sure how it will look in 12 months time. Saw a silver one outside my school this evening.... looks pretty good with the street lights on it too! And you are right with the black... my biggest concern is keeping the car looking good with minimal effort hehe~ By the way, is yours a wildfire red? It looks kinda different to some of the ones I've seen on carsales.com.au, looks alot sportier, must be the black mesh grill!! Good job mate!
  23. Hi guys! I'm looking to get a company car and got my eyes on the Aurion Sportivo SX6. Now, I'm in a bind in choosing the colour... What is the most popular colour to retain the sporty look? I'm thinking of either White, Silver, Black or the Inferno... What's a colour that will make people go "wow"? :P Kinda like the white... but white seems to always be associated with fleet cars... Silver.... all the cars on the street are silver... Black.... is it very hard to keep clean? Inferno.... haven't seen alot of them on the streets... Suggestions and pictures will really help!!! THanks in advance!!!!
